ASU, George Washington University, Notre Dame, University of Miami, UC Riverside and USF were all admitted as AAU members.

Interestingly, the AAU Board Chair is USC's President, Carol Folt, so it seems that she could potentially influence the B10's pool of expansion candidates.

Down here in the Tampa Bay area they are speculating that USF would be a Big Ten option. Good academic school, fertile recruiting area, building a new on campus football stadium. The area is heavily populated with BIG grads.
Would make a lot of sense and I'd love seeing my Knights more often without traveling.

BIG can essentially grab any Florida school it wants. I don't see it.

USF would be like 38th on the list of potential invitees to the B1G.

The only “directional” school ever being added to the B1G is already slated to arrive next year.

ASU has turned into quite a research school the last 20 years. Out leadership has taken advantage of bening around one of the largest cities in the country with minimal competition. The AAU upgrade was inevitable.
ASU IMO is a full blown wild card contender for B1G expansion now with AAU status. PHX market, they have respectable hoops and football programs, they have wrestling and ice hockey and a top tier baseball and men's golf programs, plus a ton of B1G alums live in the PHX market. I'd be on board with ASU as a B1G member.

When we played them in the first of several bowl games under schiano it was an eye opener how drunk and belligerent the Asu fan base was. Worst of any I've seen in pros or college. And I sat in bleachers watching the giants in the old yankee stadium.

I’ve been to a dozen+ ASU games (including the Insight Bowl that you mentioned) and have never seen even a hint of what you describe.

Why in the world would the B10 want ASU or USF when they can have Washington, Oregon, Cal and Stanford?

Yes , I too found the ASU fans to be obnoxious, but maybe it was because we lost ?

I’m not ignoring the positives mentioned above but I just can’t see ASU in the Big. And definitely not USF.

I can definitely see Notre Dame and Miami.

Maybe Washington too

At the Insight I had many ASU fans after the game come up to me praising RU.
I sat in a section full of ASU season ticket holders ( son in law went to ASU and was a season ticket holder ) wearing Rutgers gear and not a problem just friendly banter. A lot of them wound up gaining respect for Rutgers as the game went on.

ASU is known as one of the biggest party schools in America. Did not anticipate an AAU invite, guess times have changed. I say add them and San Diego State, based on my research
