Used to make the trek to the Nassau Coliseum to see the Nets. The ABA had some characters - players and coaches. Dr J and Larry Kenon were fun to watch, and who didn’t like Billy “The Big Whopper” Paltz.I loved the ABA . Still have a closet full of memorabilia.

lol… I had a cheap plastic one that didn’t even rotate properly. The ABA used to have doubleheaders at the Garden with two bad teams on game one (Pittsburgh, Florida) and then the Nets v someone. We would run around the whole first game looking for players in the stands to sign our program. Pre Dr J. Though he may have played in MSG while on Virginia. Who amongst us over 65 didn’t have a red white and blue ball?
Kevin Loughery, Hubie Brown. So much plaid!lol… I had a cheap plastic one that didn’t even rotate properly.
The days of the flashy plaid sport jackets….Slick Leonard, Larry Brown, Al Bianchi and Joe Mullaney.
The NBA used to do the same at the old MSG. I remember my dad taking me a doubleheader with the Pistons playing somebody else in the opener and the Knicks playing the nightcap. This had to be late 50's or early 60's.The ABA used to have doubleheaders at the Garden with two bad teams on game one (Pittsburgh, Florida) and then the Nets v someone.
