As soon as I learned about CoJoMo, I was pumped up. From the get-go, I have felt he is going to be a better overall coach, with a better offense, better recruiting, etc.
BUT, the one BIG caveat that still has me concerned is QB recruitment. IMO, a ton of Mullen's success (and ours) was due to being able to find, & draw QB talent and develop it. We need great dual-threat QB's to be successful. We need better QB's than the SEC elite's to have a shot against them.
As much as Dan frustrated me with personnel decisions, play-calling, clock-management, whoring himself out, etc, the one thing we could count on was that he was going to attract outstanding QB's for our system.
If CoJoMO can continue getting these great fits at QB, then I suspect our O is going to be quite a lot better than it was under Mullen. But if he can't bring in those QB's, we will most likely not be able to take the next step up...perhaps not even maintain the level we have got to under Mullen.
QB is just that important. And Mullen is known is the, "QB whisperer". I pray we don't begin to see those great QB's not consider us now that Dastardly Dan is gone.
IMO, we really need Fitz & KT to show improvement next year, and for KT to develop into a monster under CoJoMo's system. And we need Jalen Mayden to progress well. That way, we're more likely to continue to get interest from the level of talent at QB we need to be successful.
