While I am pulling for Starmount and Coach Sandy, I hope Andrews has a safe trip down the mountain and plays a great game. With only 200+/- students, my hat goes off to them. Full of RESPECT for them.
If memory serves me right Starmount was one of the top teams back in the 70’s.

Remember that 98 like it was yesterday. After two lost attempts it was so great to see the Rams get it done.

Hey
Is the football field located at the High School. I’ve been burnt before by just assuming most stadiums were on the school premises only to be wrong

Would have never guessed🙂 although Cherokee is listed at just over 2,000. But I’m certainly no expert in populations up there
You’re right that Cherokee population is higher, although technically it’s a census designated place. Cherokee government has seven townships, three of them are in what the census calls Cherokee CDP.

Yeah without all the people
Just wanted to let you know Eastern Randolph has one feeder middle school, located in Ramseur. There are 2 1/2 elementary schools that feed the middle, Coleridge, Ramseur, and half of Franklinville. (Other half of Franklinville students go to Providence Grove). In 2018 Ramseur population is listed as 1690. Franklinville is listed at 1179. Coleridge is an unincorporated community and their numbers at elementary are around 170 students.

Just felt you would like to see some numbers because you keep painting Randolph as a huge metropolis. Three weeks ago I know for a fact that ER was invaded by two horses that got out of fence. Two days later there were over 30 cows, and one not pleasant looking bull, trying to get into baseball and softball fields (fence lost a battle to a dead pine).

I would like to apologize to both Andrews and Starmount posters for hijacking thread. Will not happen again...
Probably.

Huge metropolis 😂 Lots of hills and fields and farms. Same families for generations and generations. Former mill towns dried up. One reason the enrollment goes down and down basically on a yearly basis. Had no idea that half the Franklinville went to NERMS and Providence Grove. How is Franklinville listed that high🤷🏻‍♂️? Is it because the limits are expanded all the way out to the highway and to the bridge at the river? Makes little sense😐

You keep trying to paint that place as small and in the middle of nowhere.

How far to go he nearest mail and or city.

How many feeder schools ?

Robbinsville has 1 feeder called Robbinsville elementary.

We have to drive 2hrs to Asheville or Knoxville to get to a mail.
We have to drive 2 hrs to get to a county with the population of Randolph county. I've watched videos of that off road riding place you guys have and here them talk it up. To ppl here it's it's not a extreme or remote place to ride. I did think about bringing my dirt bike and my kids buggy. My kid would have a blast. Up here my kids buggy doesn't go real good. we have to pick easy places to ride which are few and far between.

That county is nothing like here. Don't let it bother you bro. It is what it is. As long as you think it's the back country that's all that matters. I lived an hour below Atlanta for 5 yrs. They had places that looked and felt like you was in the back country but it wasn't. I understand.

Half of Franklinville goes to PG? I honestly did not know that. I thought all of F'ville went to ER. Interesting.
