Agree. If SHU takes care of business, it will probably set up a rematch with Creighton at MSG. I like that you kept The Hall ahead of Creighton. Although we must take into account that Schwartz was not in uniform. His teammates more than made up for it from the perimeter.

It will be interesting to see how SHU does in the rematches against Providence, DePaul, @butler, GTown and Xavier. I'd like to believe SHU is still a small notch better than those teams. Hall and Creighton may be NIT level teams this season unless the team gets 2 Quad 1 wins.

The UConn vs SJU race is interesting. The two Alpha coaches aren't big on failure. I'd lean to UConn because they have the rematch at home. Also, SJU won't outdraw the UConn fans at MSG, although it could be close. Willard has a good 3rd place team with Nova. Maybe a second weekend team???

There’s no way we can still be 4th.. We’ve been trending down for a month or more. We’re 2-6 in our last 8 games. We’ve now blown (Cre8in, SJU, UConn) just about as many games as we stole earlier in the season.

The law of averages has definitely taken over and we look like a .500 team at best in the conference. And one that can only beat the bottom feeders.

Seemsas if posters are lookiing at the entire season, but after St. John's solidly handling UCONN, and our meltdown at Creighton, it's hard this morning to put UCONN ahead of St. John's and us ahead of Creighton.

So, it's very hard to win all your conference games. SJU were refed up and played a tenacious game. Both teams did. If The Hall were to play UConn and SJU at home, road or neutral how would they fare, even from a competitive standpoint?

One of the worst Hall meltdowns I can remember. Until that last minute or two I thought SHU has a slight nod this season over Creighton.

16 and whatever cause these guys are pathetic selfish players and Sha is what you see in front of you. Can't wait for a rematch against Creighton in round of BE tournament and we probably lose in pathetic fashion cause of how low heart and passion and IQ we have compared to Creighton. Just pathetic we rather be worse than Depaul now. You cannot be confident this team can win against Providence on Wednesday. They can't even blow out trash like Marquette.

St John’s has the best player in the BE by a wide margin and maybe the best coach?
Zuby is one of the best players, and probably the leading candidate for POY. But I don't think it is a wide margin. Demary and others are right there.

They are both great coaches and a level up from everyone else.

We can agree to disagree on that. And this coming from one of the few on here that can have objective views on anyone associated with that third rail. Demary has continued to blossom on both ends as a lead guard. I think the metrics back it up too. That isn’t to s*** on Zuby either, because there isn’t a fan or coach in the country that wouldn’t want to have a kid with Zuby’s work ethic, personality and motor on their team, even putting aside his two-way production. He’s incredibly easy to root for.

Zuby 21, 10, 7
Silas 9 turnovers

I don’t think Silas is even the best player on Uconn lol

He averages 11ppg????? And you think that is worthy of POY????

Yeah, he’s worse than I thought. Zuby in a landslide

Yes, they forced him into 9 TOs. Credit their defense, which is much, much improved, although that is no surprise.

But come on let's post the rest of his stat line: 18 points on 7/11 shooting; 7 rebounds, 5 assists. The only other player besides Reed who got to the foul line. Was constantly stressing their defense.

For the year, he's averaging 11.7 points, 6.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals, shooting 49% from the field, a whopping 47% from 3 and about 79% from the FT line.

All of this while transitioning from more of a combo guard to the PG that Hurley wants him to be in that motion offense.

He's a stud, and the counting stats and metrics back it up.

I'm not saying this because he plays for Danny (an alum), and I have some weird UCONN specific bias (of all teams) or because I want to discount Zuby because my therapist says it is helpful for my #PDS to have unobjective takes about the player or anyone affiliated with the third-rail of PirateCrew.

I hear ya. His other stats are real good. I just can’t give POY to a player averaging 11ppg. That would be comical, imo.
