No one should base the season results by just a specific period of time.

Early on the Pirates were playing like a top 25 team. Lately more like a top 80 team.

Bottom line they are a top 50 team right now and that's all that should matter.

And nobody is. Everything has always been couched as "in the last few weeks."

With losses to nos. 100, 28, 75, and 100 and wins over nos. 96, 99, 65, 83, and 79, with most games being close) that is not a Top 80 team in recent weeks.

It could be worse. We could be Kansas State. Or Georgetown. With what they spent, yikes.

Just out of curiosity, besides KJ Lewis, who did they spend a lot on? Nobody on that team is worth a damn

We're splitting hairs. Top 80/top 85-90.

I would imagine Iwuchukwu cost a pretty penny, and Malik Mack although in year 2 probably got a nice chunk. I agree though, outside of Lewis it's a very underwhelming roster for what they have been reported to spend. Unlike Creighton or Providence where the team looks good on paper, but other issues (injuries, coaching) have popped up.

Retaining Mack at PG. Several of their centers. Caleb Williams. I'm sure others I'm overlooking this moment.
