This is not a projection but play to date

1 Conn 8-1
Right now in a class by themselves

2 St John's 5-3
A distant 2nd but not looking behind them

3 Seton Hall 9-1
Metrics not on the court play be damned.

4 Villanova 7-1
Still don't have anything close to a quality win, but who else

5 Butler 7-2
9 point loss to Boise State at home drops them 2 spots

6 Providence 6-4
Playing better bumps them up

7 Creighton 5-4
How many blowout losses before we realize they are just not that good

8. Xavier 7-3
4 wins in a row and eyeing Creighton

9. Georgetown 6-3
Their 5-0 start seems like a distant memory

10 Marquette 5-5
How the mighty have fallen

11 DePaul 5-3
Did you just beat Kenpom #348 Arkansas Pine Bluff (1-9) at home by 4 points

Check back with me at the end of January. That said I'm very pleased our our team to date.

I see no reason Villanova should be ahead of us as others here are saying. They haven't beaten anyone yet and who on that team actually scares you? Best player is a freshman.

Also, X has shown a lot of life recently, they're being slept on. Right now X is playing better than Creighton, Providence, and probably Gtown and possibly Nova. I'm showing love right now until Nova beats someone. X vs Cinci was one of the best games involving a BE team not named Seton Hall or Uconn that I've watched all year so far. Nice rivalry win over B12.

All in all BE looking bad against the P4. Two blowouts today.

1. UConn 8-1
One of the best teams in the country. National championship contenders again.

2. Seton Hall 9-1
I'm not sure I expect to remain here, but I don't think it's wrong.

3. St John's 5-3
Their best game so far is probably that one-point loss to a really good Iowa State team. Probably will wind up second, so I imagine this ranking will be brief.

4. Villanova 7-1
Facing a major step up in class against Michigan. That will tell you a little something about this improved team.

5. Butler 7-2
It feels like this is about where they will stay. They look solid if unspectacular.

6. Georgetown 6-3
Leaking some oil due to injury but have still done a little something so far; more than others.

7. Xavier 7-3
Look like they are trending up.

8. Providence 6-4
I just don't see anything to feel great about here.

9. Creighton 5-4
Let's be real: They stink. At least this year they do.

10. Marquette 5-5
They have challenged themselves, schedule-wise, but right now, they are falling way short. But at least they aren't...

11. ...DePaul 5-3
What did this program do to offend the universe?

Don't know how Creighton and Marquette will look by the end of the year, but it shows that even top programs with good coaches can have off years.

UConn is the top team. SJU is second for now. I feel like the Hall vs SJU games this season will not be guaranteed wins for SJU. That's a huge step after last year. Maybe, The Hall is 3 or 4 at this point. Should SHU beat Rutgers, then Match "could" be a possibility if they take care of business in the conference.
