I think Shapen has a better handle of the offense. I do disagree with how Lebby has used Taylor this year. He should have seen more snaps. Taylor can make things happen with a bad OL because he can escape pressure. If our OL is doing ok -Shapen is better. That’s why I’m saying it’s situational.

If you want to win....you start Shapen.

Not really.

Shapen with a better O-Line is the choice, due to experience and better deep and intermediate ball accuracy.

No time for deep routes to develop when you're on your backside in 2.5 seconds.

I love the "score from far" concept, but this is a JUCO O-Line without Steen & Reese

I am really wondering why anyone would want Shapen back on the field. Clearly it is time to roll with KT. Shapen is an average QB with a good OL. Our OL will look better with KT. Shapen makes the OL look worse by holding the Ball too long. If we want to have a chance to win Saturday then put KT at QB.

Sharpen. Has had good success on the 1st drive. Once the defense settles in a certain speed of the game based on Shapen the bring in Taylor as the change of pace.
I think this is where I am. I'll add that we all see Shapen can be streaky, and the streak length can vary. Assuming he's healthy, give him the start and pull him if he cools, forcing the D to adjust to an entirely different threat at QB. Reinsert him as needed. Do whatever's necessary to win this game.

Shapen may be 100% to start the game, but I guarantee he'll drop down to about 50% and sputter along by the third or fourth series. He's accurate for sure when he has time, but since our OL seems to enjoy letting the pocket collapse in about 0.5 seconds, I'd say he's limping by the 2nd quarter.

I’d run sharpen out for 2 series and figure out if we can protect him. If we cannot, put KT in. But KT has trouble with the throws that Shapen can make that help us score.

This, he won't play another complete game for the maroon and white.

How can anyone say we have a better chance of winning with Shapen? Is it because of the win against Tennessee? Or the win against Texas? Or definitely the one against Florida? You do have the one against Arkansas where Kamario scored 2 TDs. We haven't been winning with Shapen. PERIOD.

If you want to guarantee yourself 5-7, play Walmart Milroe the whole game, for the next two. That said, it's probably the best option.......for next year.

So if bowl games are your thing - better play Sharpie

Pretty telling that the poll is exactly 50-50 after 48 votes. I'm sure Lebby is going back and forth too.

Shapen with an eye toward getting KT a good number of snaps. I do think it helps KT look more successful because he's such a change of pace (like 180 degree opposite of Shapen in every way imaginable); I'm just not sure how successful he would be the whole game once the D gets adjusted.

And you risk a loss of confidence if you throw him out there under a lot of pressure and he doesn't look great.

I like starting Shapen (if healthy) then bringing KT in at some point.

Shapen is our best chance to win, but we gotta keep giving KT opportunities, but not just QB dives, and read options where he reads to keep every time.

I think it's more telling of our fanbase.

That plan has proven to work time and time again so it's likely the best route. Leak/Tebow, Russell/Dak, etc. etc. KT in short yardage, maybe a throw here or there.

Honestly, I am truly concerned about what we look like next year with Taylor full time. His throwing ability at this level leaves a lot to be desired, but that doesn't jive with Lebby's offense. I mean we act like he's Cam Newton. Maybe he will be, but I'd feel better about that if say, Mullen was the coach and not Lebby.

So many think Lebby is going to pivot to a Mullen type run-based offense......and he's not. Without the long pass threat the shlt breaks down.

We've already burned the RS for Taylor, let him play and learn for next year, assuming he's still around then. As for Shapen giving a better shot at a bowl, if the Birmingham Bowl, the WeedEater Bowl, the Mayonnaise Bowl excite you then maybe play Shapen.

It's still Shapen. Kamario's throws are all over the place.

He's going to throw a big pick soon. I'll go ahead and put it out there that the next crossing route Kamario attempts will be picked. Each one thus far has missed its target by 8-10 yards.

Start Shapen. Use Kamario.

If it were my choice, start KT, but pull him quickly if needed. I got sick of the game and GA homer announcers and went outside at halftime and got some work done, so didn't see KT play. All reports make it seem like he did pretty well. Shapen is a passer, and that's it. Designed runs for him, with his slightly built body, is simply begging for injury. Almost as bad is not kicking obvious field goals. His pass rush avoidance skills are not much better. It would be nice to see a QB that can break a tackle for a change. Plus it gives KT experience and hopefully a desire to be our QB next year.

Also, when he has used him, it's often been at random times with no apparent logic. Like 1st half Saturday. Shapen starts drive and gets us into long FG position. We jump offside on 1st and 10 and Lebby brings Taylor in for 1st and 15. then pulls him on 3rd and long. Why? Makes no sense at all. If he's your 3rd and short QB, I understand that. If he gets a drive per game that's his from start to finish, I understand that. What we've been doing, I don't understand.

Shapen but commit to playing KT a significant amount (say 2 drives). Increase that amount if we are struggling to run or protect Shapen. Decrease the amount if we are executing.

I did think he was a much more run-heavy guy in the past. Maybe he feels he's playing the cards he has and it's because of Shapen and our OL that we're relying on long passes this year? I guess I'm trying to be optimistic.

This I disagree with 100000%.

I think if you start KT, you are making the change for the rest of this year and planning for next.

What you don't want to do is give KT a short leash. Besides destroying his confidence, every other coach in the SEC is hoping we piss him off this year, and that right there would do it.

Shapen is turning the ball over as much as he's scoring, that's bad guys! Really bad! Taylor gives us a chance to escape pressure and create Shapen gets hit and fumbles. I've seen enough middling QB play and we're going lose next two games regardless so play the future, who's looked strong the last couple weeks, he'll he scored all our points this week

It really is weird how so many of you value this over actually hitting downfield passes.
