2 questions for you:

1) How low do cases need to be for you to feel it’s ok to remove masks in schools?
2) How low do deaths from Covid have to be for you to feel it’s ok to remove masks in schools?

I am honestly curious, trying to understand your thoughts.
I support the govenor as much as anyone. He was dealt an impossible hand and he did his best. If I’m him I would say if you haven’t been vaccinated you should wear a mask. If you have been vaccinated you don’t need to wear one. Only a recommendation. Not an order. We are at the point where if you want a vaccine you can get it. If you haven’t by now you most likely are never going to get one. It’s time for people to live with their decisions. So I would have no restrictions for schools. Our district has said no masks in school. Only on the buses.

No it’s true.
Gotta link?

I’m not sure if masks are effective and you have no idea if they aren’t.
Surely after 18 months they would have data that highly mask compliant towns/cities/counties/states fared better than these outlaw, nonmask compliant/mandated towns/cities/counties/states?

If they had such information, that's all you would hear.

I respect that you support him but can recognize that it's not the government's responsibility to protect us from this anymore. You can protect yourself and kids are not at risk.

Furthermore, every school system in the state has an "at home" school option so if you don't want your kids at school they can do virtual learning.

It's all a charade at this point.

Don't punish society because some refuse to get vaccinated and protect themselves. It sucks that when they are on their death bed they're openly talking about how much they regret not getting the vaccine, but that's their fault. Not government's.

That's very easy to answer for them....when the politicians tell them it's safe.

If Biden and Co were using the current data to support removing all restrictions, they'd be all in on that, just like their all in on imposing more restrictions because....wait for it....their overlords told them so.

It’s the rules. I’m not sure if masks are effective and you have no idea if they aren’t. I don’t like them. I’ll do it to keep people safe in case they do work.
My kids school all but abandoned masks the last 2 months of school with zero outbreak. I work with a few hundred people who also abandoned masks and the rate of spread stayed consistent. So there are 2 small science experiments suggesting masks are useless.

There are also far larger data points proving masks are useless, but we already know you lefties will never listen...until King Biden tells you too.

New definition of a conspiracy theory: the truth before libs are ready to hear it.

It's really impressive how they ginned this up again over cases.

March 10,2021 Texas Governor Neanderthal Abbott rescinds statewide restrictions including mask mandates.

March 29, 2021 Other states follow and these statements appear:

Impending Doom

"We're in the life and death race with a virus that is spreading quickly, with cases rising again," Biden said at the White House on Monday afternoon. "New variants are spreading and sadly some of the reckless behavior we've seen on television over the past few weeks means more cases are to come in the weeks ahead."

"We're giving up hard-fought, hard-won gains. And as much as we're doing, America, it's time to do even more," he added.

No states backtrack, Neanderthals didn't die, and we have the July 4th that Joe promised coming up.

May 13, 2021 "We have all longed for this moment," Walensky said of the return to normalcy. "If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.

That's quite the turnaround for teary eyed Walensky.

Just like that, we were free.

July 4 comes and goes and the mantra starts again and here we are less than a month later. If Joe hadn't said anything about the 4th, they would have never let up.

Deaths have completely uncoupled from cases. Even with the rise in cases in southern Missouri, no increase in death. How can these unvaxxed Neanderthals escape certain death? You are not allowed to get sick.

Yep. And cases are about to start dropping in MO. Young and unvaccinated are getting the virus, just like in England. Old and at risk are mostly vaccinated.

I think that’s what I said. It’s time for people to answer for their decisions. Now hospitals, nursing homes, who have people that can’t protect themselves need guidelines. My wife is a teacher. Her class of 5 year olds wore masks. It took them 1 day to get use to them. People act like masks are such a burden for kids. How? Kids adapt so easy to things. What made last year hard was the uncertainty of school schedules. And honestly the lack of help some students got from home. I know some parents think they don’t need to play a role in their kids education. But all that did was put their kids behind.

Ed,

I think you stated in your previous post restrictions should be no more. It should be each persons choice on vaccinations/masking. So I think we all agree (except Catsfans) on that point. Nobody here is arguing with you that kids don’t adapt easily to whatever. You could start sticking a q-tip up every kids nose every day to test for Covid….they would adapt and we could say well at least they get to go to school. Is that where we are in society? Sadly we aren’t too far from it if people don’t say STOP today. In case you missed my earlier post, Beshear & company are encouraging “exploring “ testing programs in school.

I assume this is a Catholic or private school? JCPS already voted and said they were requiring masks for everyone.

I don't necessarily agree with the decision, and my son is not pleased to have to wear a mask all day. I'm sure teachers aren't excited to spend an entire year being the mask police either.

That said, who cares really? It's just a stupid mask. Are we still outraged by masks? I've got more important **** to worry about.
Dude, STHU, you little commie. You wanna be a good little slave then go ahead but leave everyone else alone. “It’s just a mask.” The audacity to try and force something on someone else’s face because of your political dogma and the mentally unstable’s fear is BS.

I watch and read various entities. Man I don’t like masks. I’m not even sure they work. On the other hand you don’t know they don’t work. The restaurant deal you mentioned is ignorant. I agree.
Unless they are a certain kind of mask that has carbon filters and no areas for air to get in, they don't work. It's just for show. They have to seal. These "masks" you see people wearing are not doing a thing.

Again, none of those kids are at risk and the teachers all have the option to guarantee they won't go to the hospital if they so choose. We don't need covid rules anymore. The danger is gone for those willing to take the shot.

No need to force kids or anybody to do anything at this point.

it's not big deal to test everyday. it's also no big deal to make kids follow any number of rules that could remove all risk of everything from their lives. But there is a line somewhere on everything. And forcing masking, that really doesn't work that well anyway is unnecessary because every person at risk has a way to protect themselves without anybody else doing anything.

This is what we were told. Once we make this "not lethal" with a vaccine we will go about our lives. Nope...

it's an absurd goal to get the virus to zero. It's not attainable. It's impossible. We have to learn to live with this thing. Get your shot and move on.

You know who played the biggest part in Bershear being elected? Your boy Matt Bevin.
If the teacher's union had stayed out of it, Bevin wins, but they has their feelings hurt and whined and cried on camera for everybody to see and feel sorry for them having to work 9 months a year.

Bevin could have won had he been 10% less of an *******. You can blame teachers all you want. It’s obvious you have zero respect for them. All other republicans in the state won by 2-3 hundred thousand votes. Bevins loss is on him

Do not ever say kids adapt so easily. Or kids are tough. Not until you deal with teenagers and adults who were treated worse than animals(including masking which is unnecessarily dehumanizing).

The only obvious thing is you have no idea how I feel about teachers. Great respect for them. Have them in my family. Doesnt change the fact they helped elect Gomer Pyle as Governor.

Yeah seen where the pardoned convicted murderer ,who's family was fund raising for Bevin's campaign, is back in jail.

It's not the people that voted for Beshear that is the problem. It's knuckleheads that nominate these shady loudmouth jerks in the primaries instead of a decent candidate.
No one knew Bevin till he rode that county clerk's coat tails.

I honestly cannot envision someone I would not vote for over Beshear. The Republicans could dig up Pol Pot, dress him in Klan robes, and name Katina Powell as his running mate and I would still have to consider who to vote for.

The absolute worst.

He has never planned on being a two term governor. And that’s fine. He’s getting us through this nightmare. Be interesting who the republicans decide on.

lol. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Every move he’s making is to appease his base so he has a chance to win. It’s slim. It always was. But I can tell you for a fact he’s as political as they come

You don't even believe your own posts. I'm sure he planned to just do one term. You guys are hilarious. He couldn't govern water out of a faucet.

Other states have done well that had real leaders and grown ups running their state. Gomer Pyle is just aw shucking his way through his term.
