I'll post this every Sunday

Since today's game has no bearing on COY, here we go

1A Danny Hurley
Split with Pitino, although he gave him a butt kicking this past week

1B Rick Pitino
Nice comeback yesterday

3 Kevin Willard
Had his chance last night to lock up the award, but failed miserly

4. Shaheen Holloway
He's not winning the award but deserves a mention

I don't understand why Willard is even in the discussion. It's Villanova, they're supposed to be good. He's had a good year in a mediocre league, but he's 0-4 vs. UConn and St. John's. This comes down to Hurley or Pitino, take your pick.

they were picked 7th, they are in 3rd. That is why. Pretty simple.

Whoever goes 18-2 out of the two top teams gets the award IMO. If they tie at 18-2 I think Hurley probably gets it because RP won last year.

A lot of people killing English for the job he’s done and rightfully so, but McDermott may have done a worse job. Who would’ve thought?

Yup English has crawled out of the worst coach of the year award in the league by winning 3 in a row. He has still massively underachieved and this is probably much to the chagrin of Prov fans who seem to want him gone. I think Cooley is now firmly taking this award although Dan put Smart out there, which I get.

Marquette looks absolutely abominable in the first half vs DePaul. 14 points!

And yes Holtmann is moving up the coaching ranks.

4. Holtmann

COY should go to whoever wins the BE

1) Hurley
2) Pitino Sr.
3) Willard
4) Holtman
Holtman at # 4 is interesting. My first thought was they were 14-20, 4-16 last year compared to our 7-25, 2-18. This year they have improved to 15-13, 7-10 vs. our 19-10, 9-9. BUT.... if we consider where Depaul has come from over that last ..... two decades, his achievement is amazing.
If that wide-range thinking is in play, maybe he should jump ahead of Willard at three, or even be equal to the green-lined-pocketed Hurley and Pitino.

If Depaul wins out and they finish 10-10, he’d certainly get my vote. However, coaches usually vote before the last game.

Holtman won’t win but man oh man he has done a remarkable job with that train wreck of a program . He has got them playing better as the season progressed. Hats off.

There's no doubt that Holtman has done a very good job. But I would submit that at this time you do not put him ahead of Holloway, who has a better in conference record, a better overall record and was picked last in the conference while DePaul was picked 9th.

11. Seton Hall - 15
