Sunday night everybody jumped off the Rutgers wagon. Everyone on twitter had them out. Monday they woke up and looked at the numbers and realized they were worthy of inclusion. This win should get us back in the Last 4 byes for most, and a neutral Q1 loss to Purdue doesn't hurt us in the least.
I think that, maybe, people assumed Rutgers would then automatically lose to Michigan in their next game. You should underestimate a Scarlet Knight ONLY at your own peril. In their rush to look like they are true prognosticators, these bracket guys like to run with their "prediction" to appear to be the first to see something/anything. In the business world the word "analyst" can be a joke...it's not a real job, especially if you are lazy, lol. Besides...we have the best bracket man in the business living right here in our own forum! GO RU!

He’s a weasel. Never liked him.
Was Brad Wachtel the RU student manager with the team from 2001-2005?

My buddy and I sat behind the RU bench in those days and joked that he was the tiniest person we’ve ever seen at the RAC. His suit jacket was sized for an 8 year old.

And now he is a CBB expert? Glad to know that Pike gave him his walking papers.

Nobody is claiming we’re not in as of today. Nobody is that worried. Right now we are in, but it’s not at all unreasonable for a Bracketologists to classify us as IN - For Now.

this....lets get todays results in first, bracketology isnt just about putting a team in and taking one out....have to evaluate again tomorrow...its pitting schools within a group against each other

Again I think that’s it in a nutshell. Brad and many others, not BAC, trying to prove smarter than others, predicting Michigan ascending and RU descending, never ever contemplating that RU would defeat, let alone dominate Michigan. Now having been backed into a corner trying to worm their way out but they can’t. RU is in. As good as Brad has been, it was a bad post.

I think we will have a good idea after all the games are played whether we needed or not to beat Michigan. The only piece we won't know is if Michigan would have beaten Purdue.

Not that it matters and not that BAC would even care to look at it on Sunday, but I am sure when the dust settles we will either
A. Know Rutgers needed it
B. Know Rutgers didn't need it
C. Still not sure

It won't be until after all games are played AND seeing what seed RU ultimately gets.

We didn't just beat Michigan. We broke them. They looked defeated and quit well before the final whistle. Committee members aren't watching every game but they likely are watching tournament games with 2 bubble teams. Huge for the eye test today
I 100% agree with you about the game and how we broke Michigan WELL before the final whistle.

I don't think the committee is going to look at one game in 33 and make how we made Michigan look a factor in where we are on the pecking order. Now it sounds like the idol is a different story.

Yes. Thats why the anger here.

We should now be 100% in. Today should have removed any question.

To cover all bases with a well its not a lock is silly. Almost all brackets had us in BEFORE the game. The game couldnt have ben more positive including ANY EYE TEST.

I wouldnt want to play any Mulchay-Simpson backcourt in the NCAA early rounds if I was another team.

It matters for Rutgers bc of how poorly we have played as of late. We showed we are still capable of beating down good teams on a neutral court. If we lost the human element of how poorly we have played as of late creeps in

You can't say lock because what if Vanderbilt, Villanova, New Mexico, and North Texas win their conference tournaments?

I’m assuming you have Pitt out who UNC lost to twice. They beat Virginia and Nc St. I’m guessing you have Clemson in with a Net of 62
Pitt in and Clemson out, Pitt will be reevaluated tomorrow after all results , ditto for nc state. unc and clemson

my issue with Brad here is he does not give much credit to beating Michigan but somehow moved Oklahoma State 3-4 spots into the field because they beat a terrible Oklahoma.

He didnt give much credit to RU winning at Penn State but somehow Penn State is his new darling because they won those 2 games last week
NAILED IT RIGHT HERE! Like I said: it’s all about the “clicks” and he’s getting them from us. Smart guy lol!

If some of you want to worry about a scenario where there are tons of random bid stealers and every bubble team below us goes on deep runs, I guess go for it?

The rest of us are celebrating that we are in the dance 🕺
Exactly. Like I said earlier, probably the same people who thought we had to beat Michigan in the first game of the tournament in 2020 in order to earn a bid when we had already solidified a spot in the field of 64 with the previous win. Some people just like misery.

I don’t think there’s a realization on this board that what bracketologists think has ZERO impact on what will happen,

Again, relax, enjoy March and what happens will happen

I've only made it through Page 1 but this nails it.

Am I supposed to know or care who Brad is and his opinions?
Last I checked the committee makes the decision.
Is he on the committee? Doubt it.

If it makes everyone sleep well at night
We have road wins against Purdue, Northwestern, PSU, and Wisconsin. Now add neutral court win against Umich.
That’s really good
Also the “win” at Ohio St with Key was a very good one and looking better now
