Let me guess, you had a problem with RHJ big nuts gesture last year @indiana
You would be incorrect. I didn't have a problem, I had a BIG problem with that. Do what you want on the playground but when you're representing our university with a captain's "C" on your jersey on national television I didn't like it at all.
I guess we'll just have a difference of opinion on these.

I am trying to find a way to post a screenshot but the vice-pres of one of Penn St's fan groups is saying that:

-A Penn St fan threw a fat head at a member of the Rutgers coaching staff
-That fans allegedly used "explicit, racist, and vulgar language directed at the Rutgers basketball team"

He is condemning it and saying it is unacceptable

I'm trying to find out more

This would explain a lot. Cam went out of his way to say “Goodbye” to the fans, and I figured there had to be a reason he went all out with it.

You have to host it to a site and then post.

Since I can't find a quick way to post a screenshot here is the exactly what he said:

"Firstly there are lines we do not cross as fans, this includes being physical, hostile, or in any way disprespectful to opposing fans, players, coaches, etc. "Happy Valley Hospitality" isnt just a thing that we say it's an attitude we stay consistent with.

"That being said, there were reports of of a fan throwing a fathead at one of the opposing players/coaches and that is unacceptable, and it's something that can not only get you banned from the BJC but face police charges as well"

"Furthermore, the police have issued a warning to Athletics due to the alleged explicit, racist, and vulgar language directed to members of Rutgers basketball team."

"Things such as f-bombs, n-words, and other slurs being thrown around are downright unacceptable, and the privilege of sitting behind the benches will be revoked if this behavior continues. "

"Athletics is extremely disappointed with the behavior displayed today and so are we. Not only is this a bad look for the Legion of Blue but for our program and university as well"

This is what I was getting at when I was the first one to raise the question in the Riot Squad thread.

It was a lot more than I’ve ever seen from our guys right after the buzzer. It was very noticeable and I could tell it wasn’t just a blowing off steam type of thing.

Thanks for the info, @in22 👍

If this is what went down, it does explain probably why we saw what we saw.

Also, students are right behind the bench. When Caleb hit the 3 to tie, he turned to either his bench, or possibly the students.

Penn State is one of the more annoying fan bases, and put their students all over the side of the court like that, I’m glad we have a tough mf’er like Caleb to stick it to them

We should expect the psu admin to investigate and to issue an apology to the team if true. We issued an apology for some guy tailgating at a football game with an inappropriate flag, and this is significantly worse.

I have no sympathy for the Penn State VP or whoever it is. YOU chose to seat your students directly, and I mean DIRECTLY behind the opposing teams bench. If you don't expect them to cross a line then you're an idiot. By putting the students that close to the bench they are inviting that kind of behavior. And what also makes it worse, is usually the team entourage w/ parents, family members, etc. are probably sitting right next to them and hearing all of the disgusting abuse hurled at their family members from point blank range. The Big Ten and all schools really should forbid students from seating directly behind the opposing team's bench like the Big East did.

There a video of the ending posted on the rutgers fan group on Facebook.

You can clearly see the Rutgers bench jawing at the students behind them…then clearly see a student throw a fat head and miss a rutgers player.

Don’t wanna post here as it’s not my video. But clearly things were going on.

There needs to be some very serious consequences for the above behaviors. To me, nothing short of expelling them is worthy. About 6 of my daughter's friends went there, and I heard some really f'ed up stories. But, hey what would you expect? After all it is PSU!

It's not a good idea to have students sit directly behind opposing team's bench

Inexcusable behavior but drunk college kids don't make good decisions
Exactly. I thought it was a dangerous situation all around. That's one real good idea, but, it will never happen at that POS school.
