Yes, they play like i want to see the game played. If a guy cuts and is open, he is getting a good pass. The ball moves and finds a good shot; if it is loose on the floor, we are after it. And all five guys on the floor D it up all game.
it's just the OOC play so far, and most teams were bad, but this is the best coached team i've seen SHU have.
Team more than passes the eye test. Great to watch! Running great stuff like St. Peter's did and most good teams do. It will only get better.
i am so happy with how we play. after a long season featuring too much smh, now it is shaking cause i cant believe how good we look.

Pretty amazing turnaround from what we watched last year. And good on Shaheen for being stubborn. I don’t see much change in his approach or style. Just a change in personnel and how they respond to him.
Yea I get that. But I remember saying last year, when everyone killing Shaheen for this, that plenty of very successful coaches still coach their players very hard. Watch Mick Cronin or Brad Underwood or Danny Hurley on the sidelines. Kelvin Sampson is notoriously very hard on his players.

Hey look, Sha has been validated. I don’t see it cratering in BE play either. Good for him. It’s been very impressive to watch how the team plays together and in shared mindset. It’s still only December 15th and the roster is completely new, so it speaks volumes. The team is 10-1 and NET #38, KP #50 without anyone from last year seeing minutes. Before Felton was hurt, he played a grand total of 42 minutes over 3 games against St. Peter’s, Wagner, and Fairfield.
I am sure Sha has learned a lot in how to assess and put together a team in this era. The results between the two seasons are insane. Last year was a disaster from the onset and never got better, only got worse with injuries and malcontents. Truly wild times. Yeah having $5-6M to spend instead of under $1.5M is a BIG difference, but so is experience and understanding.
I’m still wondering how we put that 2023-24 starting roster together with even less money.

Pretty simple answer.
Dawes, Richmond, Davis were not going to risk having to sit out another full season to chase money before that season.
The immediate eligibility of the transfer portal did not come down until a few weeks into the start of the season.
If this rule change had taken place over the summer, it would have been interesting to see if any of them would have stayed. Kadary and Davis clearly improved their future market value by their performance in 23-24, but some kids don’t have that foresight in this new landscape.
If two or all three of them would have pursued greener financial pastures, that season IMO would have taken on an eerily similar look to last year, considering the NIL support wasn’t in place.
I can’t imagine any of them would have and rightly so from their perspectives. I mean we saw what happened when Richmond and Davis had the ability to leave in 2024.
I know it was claimed to be the transfer situation but I thought it was a forgone conclusion that decision was coming in the summer that year even though not official? Were they that cautious or we had a benefactor step in?
We were also told the house settlement was going to come a lot sooner than it did.
If I had to guess, I would lean towards them being cautious.
