I would have bet my life that comment would have directly followed my post.
Lol because it makes sense

I mean if you want to go down that road I could post how I wish we could have hung in there with STJ more last and and I would have bet my life the comment of 6 vs 12 what can you do would have followed

Works both ways

After what Coleman said last year, and others have said in the past, coupled with the NIL/portal nonsense, of course folks are going to be skeptical. I don't think it is a knock on you at all.
The point is that there has been little if any negativity from Clark all year long. This won't be a financial decision because the Hall will match any bid. Why must every positive message regarding the Hall be immediately met by negativism.

We just had a season that far surpassed anyone's expectations and instead of complementing the team, the staff, and the head coach reading the board today one would think we did little more than match what we did last year.

To be fair that quote is a little out of context. They were asking him more about the crown not if he was going to play at SHU next year. Thats what I read in the transcript anyway.
Read Jerry's story that I also posted.

Lol ok

To post it won’t be a financial decision is wild..match any offer? No we won’t. Why even say that?

Also our nil number gets lower every month around here that’s funny

Is it because it wasn’t available or we didn’t want to spend it?

We did a good job..congrats to everyone..I like Clark a lot and have supported him on this board the whole year. The problem is ncaa basketball= the NCAAT that’s it that’s the sport

He is an undersized 1 playing at a higher level than previous. The playbook on him, if he were a poker player his cards are face up.

Absolutely.

While it's nice to keep a few more players for continuity, no one else deserves much of a paycheck.

Negotiate with Clark and Hines; set a hard number for everyone else, take it or leave it.
I am 99% sure we will do exactly that

Would absolutely be more than happy to have Clark back for next season.

However, we really need another legit PG on the team that can push Clark, and is worthy of challenging him for minutes and is also able to give Bud a reasonable spell on the bench for stretches - ideally without the offense falling apart/going into stasis. There is also the question of whether Clark stays healthy for another full season - we were perhaps very fortunate he held up - and this is another reason that necessitates a truly viable backup.

Also, Bud really needs to work on his long range shot. Having a PG who is almost no threat whatsoever from 3 is a huge liability to the offense. Gotta keep the other team's defense honest.

If Clark comes back you will see a huge improvement

He will understand the league more and has shown a toughness and willingness to play physical..he also has a part of his game which is unique and very good (mid range) I like that it is something he can continue to rely on

We need Clark back. Period. He's a 30 minute or above per game player, and exceeded my expectations on how he would translate from Merrimack, both offensively and defensively. He also got better IMO as the season went on -- again, I didn't see that and was concerned about him wearing down. With Clark back, you don't need another "legit" PG IMO. Recruit elsewhere. A solid backup that can give you a few minutes here or there, preferably a veteran who won't make mistakes that annoy Sha, is ideal. I'd be fine with Parker in that role too, as someone who can fill in at the 1 on occasion but also play the 2 guard.

I also would "overpay" if we can to keep not only Clark and Hines, but a few of the "role" guys. They have more value to us than other teams because their is value in player retention. Chemistry. More importantly, knowing what Sha demands, expects, and being able to handle that. At minimum, we know those types can be part of a solid cohesive defense unit.

I actually did laugh out loud at that post. The same guy who always begs people to donate nominal amounts as if it makes a difference, who says we're getting blown away in $$ by other programs, who spent the last offseason on the trove turning on Holloway but has shifted with the winds to become his biggest shill, says we WILL MATCH any offer. LOL!!!

The hypocrisy on this board is comical. Too funny.

If you mean turning on Holloway let's be clear. My complaint was how he treated the media which obviously included myself. He did a terrible job and should be called out for it.

But in the preseason I also noted that he had changed for the better and hoped it would continue.

Also, there is a standing request about the Trove that everything posted there remains there. Post one more thing re the Trove and it will be the last post you make on this board.

How's that for too funny?

I'd like to have him and Hines back, obviously. I'm good with the rest or the roster too as back-ups but we need to upgrade a shooter and compromise a bit to make offense more of a priority.

I was under the impression that Dar was out of eligibility. Can someone please post who on our current roster still has another year or more left or if it's easier, who doesn't. Thanks.

His first year at Div II became a medical redshirt year.

i would be really happy if we brought back everyone (assuming the price is okay). And then we add in some shooters and anything else we need. I think continuity is very important.

I’m not high on Clark, average BE pg, imo. However, I would welcome him back because another year with Sha could help + any retention helps.

I wouldn’t mind bringing back Williams, Dar, Simpkins, but as backups.

Williams was trending up towards the end of the season.

Search far and wide and you wont find a better person than Dan. He is not a proctologist but I bet he feels like one sometimes.

That's fine. We've never met, but after being treated like dirt by him on here for the better part of the last two years, I can't share the same opinion.
