Well.......it was fun for PG while it lasted. Took that fumble and turned it into an 8-0 lead. The vibe right then reminded me of that one scene in Bloodsport when Jackson knocked Chong Li to the canvas and was jumping around saying "I got em! I got em!". Chong Li (ER) wiped the blood off his mouth, smiled, got up, and proceeded to deliver a butt-kicking.
As I expected, PG didn't have much of an answer for the ER ground attack. Lilly was marvelous tonight. His big run up the gut down to the PG two in the second half was a backbreaker. My favorite play though was when he caught that screen pass on the left side and weaved his way for the TD. Those lineman put on a clinic on how to get out front and block on that play.
Speaking of plays........so many big plays for the Wildcats. Delonte Glover's catch and run, DJ Thomas's catch and run, Devonte Brooks's pair of runs, Barwick's opening TD pass to Jake Fesmire, Lilly's run.
Poor PG was on the opposite end of the "big play paradigm" (for the most part). The fumble in the second quarter was huge. The incomplete ruling on the long bomb to Zander Cheek in the fourth was even bigger. That ruling might have changed the complexion of the game. That was a spectacular throw from Luke Thomas.
