Congrats Darkhorses. You beat a great team. Good luck next week but don't think you will need it.

Great job horses. Hate we missed the extra point to tie it. I felt an overtime game coming but those things happen in hs football. Great season by the raiders. Good luck to clinton next week.

I'll be the first to say after the Wallace lost a couple weeks ago I doubted this team I didnt think we had a championship caliber offensive line but boy have they proved me wrong over the last couple games those sophomores and juniors on the line have grown and stepped up and no you may not see these guys names in the paper tomorrow but they were key to this victory and this playoff run...Rayquan Fasion #23 has been our best player in the postseason you can tell this Senior wants one more chance at a State Title...Defense played a great game tackled well got to the ball carrier made plays when we needed too....Watched a lot of Clinton football I played Clinton football but don't think I ever been more proud of a team besides the ones I played on then this one right here.....Enjoy the win fellas safe travels to all those heading back to Sampson County enjoy the weekend and let's get back to work on Monday its not over yet on to Bunn next Friday.GO HORSES!!!!!!!

Other than the Clinton fans, it seems like I was the only one to pick Clinton. Good freaking job! And to my Andrews friends....a missed xp huh? One of the most painful ways to lose, considering its usually considered a gimmie. Players' permission to cry granted. Still a wonderful season nonetheless,

I wouldn't say that, Ram. Clinton has won bigger games than a third rounder. And I'm sure they felt like this was just another game that they should win.

34, you had to have been there and seen it, the offensive line did a good job but the story of this game was the DarkHorse defensive line and special teams. Andrews was a mighty big team for our team to contain and for the most part they did it. They showed me something tonight.

I wonder if HPA Coach is beating himself up bout not going for 2 after Clinton jumped offsides after their first score....the should a would of could of's always pop up in a game like this especially if you lose.... You could hear some of the Andrews fans dis pleasure on the radio broadcast

I wondered the same thing particularly on both extra point try's they lined up in the swinging gate formation without the kicker on both occasions the kicker running onto the field at the last moment. In the end I think the poor field conditions may have caused a slip though from the 30 yard line in on both ends of the field there was actually turf but from the 30 to the 30 it was like a hog pen. When we got the penalty I thought they may go for 2 but the DarkHorse defensive line made several stops that were just.strong and the kicker on his kicks demonstrated he had a good leg

If Clinton plays this tough next week, they beat Bunn handily in my opinion. Helluva battle last night. Reminded me of an old school Alabama-auburn game. That was a smash mouth football on both ends.

Just based on those highlights, neither team could run on the other much and HPA contained Skinner, but Clinton had other weapons, as most good teams do. With those strong run defenses I figured passing and special teams would decide the game.

Congratulations to Clinton. That was a great ballgame all the way around. Even though we lost I feel okay about it as both teams were pretty equal. Clinton executed their game plan better than Andrews did. If we played 10 times it would be 5-5 at the end. Best of luck to the Dark Horses!

What a game. Two great programs battling it out. Congratulations to Clinton and good luck against the Bunn Wildcats. Wizard of the east or whomever made those highlights did a good job...Simeon Stadium looks like one good venue for football.

Field condition wasn't ideal for either team. Maybe this will get Guilford county moving on putting in artificial turf.

Also heckuva job by Coach Lewis. From the few articles I've read, he made some adjustments to Clintons alignment on offense moving their backs closer to the line of scrimmage because he felt they would struggled against Andrews d line and thought it would help them get in the hole before Andrews kids could shed blocks. Not a huge adjustment but one they I think helped Clinton get extra yards here or there. Also a smart move to melt the clock down before every snap and control the time of possession. Overall, a masterful job by Lewis. He and staff greatly out coached Andrews staff in this game from start to finish. Coaching beats talent every time in a close ball game like last night.

I agree. Simeon needs artificial turf, especially considering it's in a bowl. I don't doubt that they have a good drainage system, but that field is really deep. I'm shocked that more artificial turf aren't in the capital and triad areas. They are all over in the Charlotte and mountain regions.

I've seen some really bad fields over the past 4 weeks. It's a shame to have to play such important games on them but it's also difficult to take home field away from a team that deserves it.

As much as Simeon could benefit from artificial turf the grim reality here is that Guilford County Schools won't spend any money outside the city limits of Greensboro. They couldn't give two rips about what happens in High Point. Any interest is feigned at best. They won't even spend the funds to repair the main building at High Point Central, which has been falling apart for the last 25 years but will throw cash at Northern Guilford or NW Guilford in a second.

One thing I've always been curious about....isn't High Point in Forsyth County?

School system merger isn't all it's cracked up to be. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
High Point is mostly in Guilford County, though it bleeds over into Davidson County some. Also a little bit in Randolph County. Not sure about Forsyth.

Let me preface this by saying that nothing here is intended to take away from Clinton or their coaching. Quality program and quality coach. But some times it IS about the players and not the coaches. From what i saw clinton just out manned andrews on both sides of the line. Andrews got no push on O or D. To McKoy's credit, they did make some adjustments and come out in the second half and move the ball. Clinton just shut down the momentum with their drive after the first score, then the missed kick decided the game for good.I am not saying clinton didnt do any coaching, im just saying it was not a grand chess master that won the game.

While you are entitled to your opinion of the man, I can tell you what i have heard from some folks in the building at Andrews now, he is winning INSPITE of what he has around him. From what i am told, Andrews today is nothing like what you must cherish in your glory days.I saw on another forum and in the past you claim that another coach would have gotten multiple state titles where he only got 1. What years? MAYBE 2012?

In the end, the clinton andrews game was a great game to be at. Andrews head coach must either really love these kids or be a glutton for punishment the way he is treated by his community.

Yeah from before the kickoff I saw what you guys were talking about. I couldn't imagine coach lewis letting the kids just just hang out without their helmets on and just dancing to the music being played. Clinton seemed to be more business than HPA. Not taking away from them because they had a ton of athletes playing on both sides of the ball. Just not a lot of of discipline on both sides of the ball.
