Im getting the Iphone 5 on Friday with Cspire. How is the data accessibility on gameday in Starkville? Also, how are the LTE speeds with Cspire? I know they just rolled out a ton of LTE cities across the state. Any info would be appreciated.

there seems to be a lot of confusion in that thread.

Apple makes an Iphone with an LTE chip inside and LTE is available in my area, yet it will not work on LTE. How in the hell does that make sense?

here's another topic about it - http://circle.cspire.com/thread/3847
All iphone 5's are 4G ready, but will not run on Cspire's 4G or LTE network because they are made to run on a different bandwidth than Cspire chose to use. Cspire should make it very clear when you purchase the iphone 5 that it cannot run on their 4G network and make a formal announcement as to when and if they have plans to make it run on their network. Otherwise, I will consider turning in mine for a Samsung that will run on their 4G network.

I have complained to customer service twice and they seem to be very closed-mouthed about this or either they arent being told anymore than we are. One rep at the local store told me that my tower wasnt changed to 4g yet, but when I told her a friend of mine who is a cspire tech told me the week before that it was working fine and getting 20 plus mb/sec downloads, she changed her story to "they are working on the problem". I also called the buisness customer service who verified the location I was at was 4G and working fine. She didnt know much about why I couldn't get 4G either.

Once Apple updates their os (6.0.1 I believe) then the phones will work on CSpire's 4G network. From checking around on the webs, 6.0.1 is in testing and will most likely be out within a couple weeks. That being said, I could be confusing 6.0.1 with 6.1.0 but regardless, the problem lies in the OS and will be corrected after an update.

Pretty good info dawghouse. How do you know of this? I also read where there is a 6.0.1 beta currently being tested by developers.

I may or may not be an inside source and/or have an inside source at C Spire. Have to be a little vague, they're always watching.

Ill say this,

If Cspire doesn't allow this phone to run on LTE, it will severely hurt their business. They are advertising an LTE phone that does not run on Cspire LTE right now, but may in the future. This is an issue that they better address in a public statement. The message boards from them look like the gestapo trying to hush the masses. Hu Meena better get off his *** and fix this issue.

Exactly, I saw a guy on there claiming he is taking them to court over this issue because he said the rep said straight to his face when he got iphone that it will be 4g.

He cant win. The issue lies with apple. It will be 4g once apple updates the os they provided to cspire. Cspire doesnt have to make any changes to their network. Other 4g devices work fine on cspire.

I was in the Apple store last week replacing a broken phone. I overheard the tech telling someone that CSpire's 4g LTE network will not work with iPhone at all and that he did not see it working with that network in the foreseeable future. I don't know all that technical stuff, but if that's true- don't go to CSpire. Id demand an answer from CSpire before I purchased.

On the flip side....AT&T sold iPhone 4S phones with "LTE" printed in the window of the device. They programmed their phones to lie to their customers. The iPhone 4S is not a LTE device.

CSpire unavailable 4G for IPhone 5 and hidden streaming costs

I just spoke to and chatted online with two different CSpire representatives and they both confirm that their 4G network will NOT work with the Iphone 5 at the present time and say they are waiting on Apple but have NO IDEA when that will happen. Also, be aware that on their current family plans, you have to pay an additional $30 PER LINE for unlimited streaming so that puts CSpire's costs above Verizon. I am pretty sure I am going to switch to Verizon for all of the above reasons. Any advice???

When you say "streaming", CSpire differentiates between audio streaming and video. Here's the quote, Unlimited access to the web, email, audio streaming and app/file downloads. So I guess Pandora is slick but no watching w/out the extra fee if you go over.
