Can't stand the guy.. I know I'll catch hell for it but he's a cocky smart a$$ on the court and thinks he's Jordan or something.. Not hating because he backs his game up for sure, there just something about him that irks the hell outta me.
Man I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they hate Stephen because of a character flaw. You need to do some soul searching dude. News flash. He is Freakin Michael Jordan. I dont even think I ever saw Jordan look as unstoppable as Stephen was last night. I watched every big Jordan game.

What man... Damn, I don't think he's the best! That makes me a troll? I'm standing by my opinion, what's wrong with that?

And you're completely entitled to your wrong opinion. Just as everyone else on this board/everyone else who follows the NBA is entitled to remind you of just how wrong said opinion is.

Newsflash: You can not like a player personally, while still admitting that they're good or even the best in their particular sport. Do you think everyone liked Jordan back in the day? Of course not. But 99 percent of fans who had even an ounce of sense would tell you that in his prime, he was the most dominant player in the league, just as Curry is in 2016.

I can guarantee you that numerous posters on this board are not disagreeing with you because they "Love Curry." they're just pointing out a simple fact at the moment that is backed up by numerous statistics.

Really.. I watch NBA too.. Played basketball my whole life actually.. UK forums.... People that think they know everything.. It's forum right? Opinions? Good post dip **** ..
Your whole life? How old are you? What college you play for. What pro team are you currently playing for? Unless you are 15... I doubt you have played ball your entire life and if you are 15 that would explain what a dip **** you are.

I think by character flaw he means that Steph Curry is encroaching upon Air Jordan and the Jordan fan boys dont like it. ...... anyone to dare challenge the greatness is a character flaw to some

Cmon you guys, stop toying with RiversLynn010, we all can recognize he doesn't believe all this garbage he has typed. I mean, no one with an inkling of hoop knowledge would actually believe one sentence he has typed. He is just messing with us. Right bro?
I mean he wouldn't come on here and not do his homework. Well, first he said KD plays defense and that was his first step out the door on credibility. And he should know Curry is the first player in league history to average 30 per game while playing under 35 min/game.
I mean that grown *** man Lebron didn't already accomplish that?
And SCREENS are part of basketball, if you ***** about moving screens then don't watch any NBA games because every screen could be called. Curry just takes advantage of and manipulates screens better than any player. And if he didn't have a screen he would still put his defender on skates, just ask your boy delyadovalishish.

I said overtime last night. refernce me the game. Any big shot highlight you have. I have one I can show you from Stephen. I'm speaking offensively. I think Jordan was a much better defensive player. He was a dominate defensive player. 6 rings. Give him the goat title. All good. But please stop trying to convince me Stephen isn't as dominating offensively. He is. I get it. I've gone back and watched all the big Jordan games so many times. I don't know when the last time you went back and actually looked at the play. But Stephen is a beast. He's at times, impossible to stop.

Yeah, I got a little excited there. As for my point, I think you know what that is if you're posting on the 4th page of this thread.

I think everyone is getting a little excited in this thread with the comparisons. Curry is an awesome offensive player, certainly the best in the NBA the last 2 years, but there is a post on page 2 that says hes the best ever and the Jordan comparisons are comical at this stage in his career. Maybe if Steph gets to 6 rings and can actually WIN a Finals MVP, people can talk. But until then its just the latest flavor of the day.

LeBron in 2008 averaged 30/8/7 and got ONE first place mvp vote

Curry is avg 30/5/6 and is the first ever unanimous Mvp.

I think Curry deserves the mvp, but I still think LeBron is the best player in the world. It just funny how much people trash him for absolutely no reason.
Yes, Lebron is so ridiculously dominant that people get bored giving him his dues.. It's a common phenomenon..

Guys like Duncan, Shaq, and even Kobe were old hat with their domination (only 4 MVPs between the three of them, even though they arguably could've taken every single one in that decade between Jordan being old and Lebron bring young), and then you'd get these MVPs from exciting guards like Iverson or Nash who weren't actually the best player (or even the best player on a good team). (See also: '15 Curry, though '16 Curry obviously was the most worthy player).

Cal didn't get COY for his undefeated season.. Same thing. Phil Jackson only had one COY.

You hear the way some of our dumber fans talk so dismissively about all of Cal's final fours?

For some strange reason, Jordan was immune to this phenomenon. He had the best marketing team in the world who promoted him from world's best basketball player (which he certainly was) to reigning demigod and most famous person on the face of the planet. So he got full credit unlike Lebron et al

Funny thing.. Does the guy trashing Curry for his personality but backing Jordan realize that MJ is one of the biggest dicks in the sport? Way worse than Curry's worst day.

Damn! You got on here and went off didn't ya... I said KD played defense? Lol don't remember that... Anyway, I'm aware curry can shoot lights out and never denied that.. As far as playing basketball, I meant I've always played.. That's beside the point though.. It's a forum so you're entitled to your own opinion.. and for anybody to get on here and say curry is Jordan should be drug out in the street and stoned to death.. A true dip **** would post that my friend.. You must be a die hard steph fan Huh? Sorry if certain players irk me... Just voicing my opinion man that's all.. Like how you stepped in there man, you really showed up douche bag [thumb2]

Never said I hated steph dumb a$$... Said he irked me.. Dude thinks he's Jordan! Which is impossible bro! He shoots the three lights out no doubt! But dominating is a strong label for curry, maybe on fire but not dominant....

Voted as the first ever unanimous NBA MVP today so obviously Curry is the greatest player to ever walk the planet. Plenty more coming to be irked over too.

Uhhh....Nash was freaking amazing in the two seasons from '04 to '07 and well deserved the award. He actually didn't even win MVP during his best season, the '06-'07 season, because they got tired of giving it to him.

You are correct regarding Iverson. Throw in Derrick Rose as well. Both had wonderful seasons, but they weren't as good as established stars, Shaq and Lebron for example.

Wow. Never seen such name calling amongst supposed uk fan towards other cats fans. Riverslynn010 is the new record holder there. Besides the fact your point is just wrong, and it is. I've lost every bit of respect I ever had for you because of the way you're choosing to argue. Cussing in every post and calling people names. Sounds like a mad middle school kid. You've embarrassed yourself on so many levels here. And not because of the point you're trying to argue either. I would never want to go battle with you on my team man.

So the guy that averages 22.4 PPG and shoots 47% for his career is more dominant than the guy that scored 30.1PPG and shot 49.7% for his career. Got it. :joy:

It's possible for 2 different people to dominate the NBA.

80 games a year, they are playing someone other than each other.

The 2 games that they do play, they don't even guard each other.

For that matter, Russell Westbrook is dominating the NBA this year too. 18 triple doubles.

He was terrific, but he was way worse on defense than Curry currently is (which itself is Curry's weakness as a player), and there were a bunch of monster seasons that got cast aside for it. He basically had the equivalent of a good John Stockton year, minus the defense, and Stockton was lucky when he scraped the bottom of the top 10 in MVP voting (in a stronger NBA, granted).

Basically, he was a likable white guy who was highly skilled and very exciting in his play, and the reigning stars were boring or unlikable or otherwise taken for granted.

I expected someone might take issue with my shot at Curry from '15, but it's quite uncontroversial to call into question one of Nash's MVPs, if not both.

If they voted on MVP after the playoffs, Nash would never have won one.

If I'm not mistaken, the players picked Harden over Curry last year.

You'll get no argument from me on this. Jordan is clearly the greatest player ever. Curry has had an incredible last 2 years but he's a long ways from Jordan. He would have to sustain his current 2 year play for another 8-10 years, plus 3-4 more championships, to even be seriously in the discussion. You would clearly be great to accomplish that. But man he has one of the sweetest and quickest strokes I've ever seen.

Harden was a worthy MVP candidate last season. There usually is more than a single worthy recipient of the award in any given season. This season is an anomaly.

Injuries would be the only thing from entering that status. Jordan dominated in a game where he had the flu. That is a lot harder than playing through an injury that is not potentially career ending.

Lebron will never get his due because of the notion that he's a front runner nevermind the fact that the heat were first round exits the last few years before he got there. After Wade won the ship they went out early in the playoffs due to lack of support around Wade. He went back to Cleveland and people still call him a front runner nevermind the fact that most of Cleveland roster is filled with key guys who had no team success until they got with Lebron

Lebron will never get his due because he's good enough to get his team in position to win it all but not good enough to take home the trophy. He's like Oscar Robertson or Wilt Chamberlain in that regard. Great player but no one likes a tease.

On another note, I'm no thunder or warriors fan, but I'm really looking forward to the potential Westbrook - Curry showdown. Call me crazy, but I think OKC actually has a chance to beat GSW. I'd just hate to see Billy Donovan have success.
