sure they can, the insurance companies will sell to anyone...even those with pre existing conditions can get 100% insuranceNot everyone can

Proper insurance is harder and harder to obtain these days.isn't that why we have health insurance? If you have the proper insurance you won't go bankrupt
How ******* out of touch are you on the current state of health insurance? I’m guessing you’re on Medicare with a $200 a month supplement to get to the 100% number?why? Can't you buy basic health insurance that covers 100% of costs....and/or you can buy supplemental insurance that will pick up the cost difference
even the ACA? The ACA was created to make health insurance available to anyone who needed it.Proper insurance is harder and harder to obtain these days.
Yes, they will. At an actuarilly sound rate.sure they can, the insurance companies will sell to anyone...even those with pre existing conditions can get 100% insurance
Have you been living under a rock?even the ACA? The ACA was created to make health insurance available to anyone who needed it.
You probably think immigrants don’t pay taxes or contribute to the economy, don’t you. I’d like to see a breakdown on the billions Illinois gave illegal immigrants.0 public money should go to illegals.
I am on Medicare and I do have a supplement...Tricare for life. And, I pay more for healthcare than I ever did in my life...And, I don't complain about it.How ******* out of touch are you on the current state of health insurance? I’m guessing you’re on Medicare with a $200 a month supplement to get to the 100% number?
Is that not accurate ACA was not created to cover the 41 million uninsured Americans??? (in 2010)Have you been living under a rock?
You’re pretending you’re okay with legal immigrants. No you’re not. You’re waving your bigotry around clearly.Always deflecting. Can’t address the actual topic. It’s obvious there’s a major issue right now. Yet people still have their heads in the sand.
Holy crap. I’m starting to wonder if you actually live in the USA.isn't that why we have health insurance? If you have the proper insurance you won't go bankrupt
Only in America is this an actual thing…and our citizens accept it.Not everyone can
It was. There are still millions of Americans who struggle to cover health insurance payments especially now that ACA premiums are spiking. Even if you have insurance you can get massive bills that you have to coverIs that not accurate ACA was not created to cover the 41 million uninsured Americans??? (in 2010)
This getting moved from The West Zone to House of Politics is pretty funny, RIP to all the guys who never frequent the latterWhere do you guys dig up these mouthbreathers? Good lort that's a lot of dumb in one paragraph!
ACA (Obamacare) marketplace premiums increased by an average of 20% to 22% in 2026, marking the largest hike since 2018. Alongside surging premiums, average deductibles hit a record high of $3,786 per person—a steep 37% jump. [1, 2, 3]Is that not accurate ACA was not created to cover the 41 million uninsured Americans??? (in 2010)
So, yeah not a traditional commercial product. Nowhere near the same. The boomer mentality is crazy. Is that not accurate ACA was not created to cover the 41 million uninsured Americans??? (in 2010)
yea but you just changed from everyone can get insurance....Insurance is available to everyone, but like most things in life you buy what you want or what you can afford. I get it that health insurance is expensive, especially when the increased subsidies expired. It was. There are still millions of Americans who struggle to cover health insurance payments especially now that ACA premiums are spiking. Even if you have insurance you can get massive bills that you have to cover
Right, but even if you spend a ton of money on a solid plan you can still end up with huge billsyea but you just changed from everyone can get insurance....Insurance is available to everyone, but like most things in life you buy what you want or what you can afford. I get it that health insurance is expensive, especially when the increased subsidies expired.
It's similar to auto insurance, you can buy the minimum required but stand to end up with large bills if you have an accident not covered.
Or like life insurance, you can buy the minimum and leave your wife and kids destitute if you are killed by a runaway car.
life is full of choices and risks.
well, before you cast blame on an entire generation..the op was that Not everyone can get health insurance. I'm just pointing out that isn't accurate. Health insurance is available to everyone....you might not want to trade off your Starbucks or iphone , or steak dinners to buy it, but you can definitely get it.So, yeah not a traditional commercial product. Nowhere near the same. The boomer mentality is crazy.
FIFY0 public money should go to pro sports teams and illegal aliens.
OK, I'll accept your premise. But from my pre Medicare experience..I had a company plan that covered 80% and I bought a supplemental plan that covered the remaining 20%. So my out of pocket was only the supplemental at $167/month.Right, but even if you spend a ton of money on a solid plan you can still end up with huge bills

Boomers mentality is crazy...not sure I agree. I know a lot of boomers - of which I am not one - where I would agree with you. But I know a lot of others who wouldn't trade off health care insurance for anything. See, health problems, parts wearing out, are much more prevalent as you age.
What difference does it make if its a commercial product or not? There are ACA products that cover 100%. Buy one, then you won't have to worry about major health care costs. Don't buy one and then complain if you have a health problem that your lack of insurance doesn't cover. I know there are people in gen X, millenials, Gen X who understand the concept of personal responsibility.
Are there some people who have problems with health insurance. Sure there are...but that's what the ACA was supposed to deal with. If the ACA is inadequate, blame the people who created and passed it. Or, vote for people who will change it.
Ok but sometimes your insurance doesn't cover all your billsOK, I'll accept your premise. But from my pre Medicare experience..I had a company plan that covered 80% and I bought a supplemental plan that covered the remaining 20%. So my out of pocket was only the supplemental at $167/month.
So based on my experience and what the all knowing internet is telling me. that method still exists today.
In fact, very rarely does it cover all the bills.Ok but sometimes your insurance doesn't cover all your bills
I don't think anyone should be going bankrupt over healthcare. The fact that it's even possible is evidence of our seriously broken American healthcare system. You really wanna make an argument that Americans should be going bankrupt over healthcare costs but illegals get it for free.. Yea screw the people that live here and pay taxes.
You forgot to add…in America. In AMERICA, healthcare is a choice, a privilege, not a right.yea but you just changed from everyone can get insurance....Insurance is available to everyone, but like most things in life you buy what you want or what you can afford. You’ve only made the playoffs with Jordan Love because the nfl added a 7th seedAs a Packer fan I’m enjoying the hell outta this whole situation. **** da bears. Garbage *** franchise.
you're right...although I wouldn't call it a privilege unless you consider buying a house, a car, etc privileges...You forgot to add…in America. In AMERICA, healthcare is a choice, a privilege, not a right.
Of course you wouldn’t, because you don’t look outside your bubble. I do.you're right...although I wouldn't call it a privilege unless you consider buying a house, a car, etc privileges...
P.S.A. - This is sooooo not all he’s gonna say on the matter…..Some of the lost patriotic people you will meet are immigrants and they contribute far more to the economy than they receive. You can disagree but the latter is backed up by research. That’s all I’ll say on the matter since we’re on the main board
And?You’ve only made the playoffs with Jordan Love because the nfl added a 7th seed
Bruv, c‘mon. I get it, it’s not the end of the world, but it’s a clown show right now and people do give a ****. Perhaps in some crazy fantasy land nobody you know in the greater chicago area cares about this, but I’m call ******** dude. I’m not talking trash here, just being real.I don’t know a single Chicagoan who cares where the bears play.

Not to mention there are nearly 10 million people in the metro area (3x bigger than the entire state of Iowa) and Soldier holds less people than Kinnick.I get what you’re saying. Certainly everyone has a preference but no one cares enough to give them money. I’m happy to let Indiana be their sugar daddy. It’s 20 minutes longer for me to get to Hammond than soldier field.
How dumb is this guy. They aren't "illegals". They're legal asylum seeking immigrants.
The money is also not going to them. It went primarily to healthcare providers providing basic care. The remaining amount mostly went to providing shelter, food and other infrastructure, which again ended up paying the people doing the providing rather than those being provided for.
Ironically it probably created or sustained more jobs than a stadium would.
Before you say it, we should be providing basic healthcare, food and shelter to all Americans too. It doesn't have to be an either or.
The free market did figure it out and the Bears are going to Indiana.OP is a Republican arguing that taxpayer money should go to billionaire private business owners. I remember when my party wanted to let the free market figure these things out.
By using $1 billion in taxpayer money. The free market did figure it out and the Bears are going to Indiana.
Unless ….. Chicago wants to make a competitive offer to keep the Bears.
The free market is working as intended.
