By giving him that award the university is letting everyone know that they've not been notified about anything other than the theft.Carter is the winner of the Jesse Owen’s Big Ten male athlete of the year award. How does that happen if there is even a whisper of this being true?
CStars future could be wrecked because of this.
When stones are thrown the “pitchers” need to be as punished as much the accused if this is BS. I’m not picking sides and these allegations are horrible but if ur throwing u better be able to catch, too.
Posters on this site are guilty, too, for rushing to judgment. Trying to rationalize why it’s got to be true. WTF?
My god didn’t we learn from 2011?
more importantly, they feel confident.By giving him that award the university is letting everyone know that they've not been notified about anything other than the theft.
Yeah, having written HR manuals in the early days of the enlightened corporate sexual harassment movement, the standard system was turned on its head. You were guilty until proven innocent. Which, given the times, seemed like a reasonable alternative to the hypothetically huge problem. Except, when you co-opt the system of justice that we as humans have spent centuries creating to move beyond the rather medieval eye-for-an-eye historical alternative (Burn her, she's a witch! She turned me into a newt!), you've created a really slippery slope. The old adage, better ten guilty men go free than one innocent man suffer, exists for a reason, as painful as it may be to the aggrieved.
Would you like to just copy and paste them my thoughts on the other HR? I'm sure it'll be appropriate for your needs...It's worse than that. HR is where sociopaths go to practice their malevolent craft with respectability.
About fifteen years ago, I inherited a bona-fide bat guano crazy employee. A former college cheerleader, she smoked herself into a reasonably decent facsimile of Margaret Hamilton's most famous character, sans the greenish hue.
One day, she really topped herself. Frustrated by some small matter, she "vented" by walking about the halls holding a banana as a faux gun, complete with "bang bang, pow, pow". When that didn't get the reaction she wanted, she began shaking it and making noises more like automated fire.
I called the employee help line and my boss, who asked me to update him on EAP's recommendations. I told him that they indicated that she exhibited 8 out of 10 "troubled" employee warning signs and that given the violent mimicry, should be required to undergo counseling as a condition of continued employment-however, since she didn't think she had a problem, the outcome wouldn't likely lead to improvement and for the moment, I should advise her of the inappropriateness of her "humor" and document the conversation, advising the chain of command,.
After the call, I was updating my boss and there was a knock on his office door. It was bat guano and she said "gentlemen, I just have one question. Is my sanity in question". (talk about the queen mother of Freudian slips), to which my boss responded that we were discussing technical matters.
A week later, the boss left for two weeks as he was getting married. She used the time to file a 9-page written sexual harassment complaint-and since the first interviewer was reading from the original-I could see that in her anger, Annie Bananny Oakley embossed the paper.
While it was completely fabricated-some of the complaints rose to the ridiculous. One was that I fell on her (not sexual harassment, and of course with me at about 250, she'd have needed an ambulance.). Since lunatics seek attention, she couldn't resist the most insane but elaborate flourishes such as I "mounted" her-in the office.
Three months later, I was told that interviews and a search of records indicated that no evidence was found to support the allegations. I was informed that for my own protection; I should never allow myself to be alone with that employee.
The letter I received said that no evidence was found to support the allegations, I wasn't found "innocent". In addition, it stated this letter would be retained in my permanent file for the duration of my employment and it could be considered in any future investigations. There was no possibility of pursuing action against the lying sack for insubordination or abuse of process.
I'm getting close to retirement; my good-bye letter will have a special section with my thoughts on HR.

I’ve seen prior posts from her about other matters before Mineo kicked me off his page for disparaging the Ferraris (if disparaging means not being a total simp for those choads). She’s pretty clued in to both Penn State and Oklahoma State. She seemed pretty level-headed ((I.e. not some random Facebook ****-stirrer, troll, etc) from what I remember. From 247 (also read subsequent posts):

On Mineo’s Facebook page, a frequent poster Wendi Keller who seems in the know said the PSU legal department interviewed the entire team already and not a single corroborated the Bartlett’s story. Someone needs to start a thread for crazy employee stories. I had one myself. She was young and new to the company. She was staying in a Bed & Breakfast owned by the boss, as was another new male employee. She complained to the boss that she was being sexually harassed by him, so the boss kicked him out. This was before everyone knew she was crazy and people believed her side of the story. (And this was long be sexual harassment would get you fired like it does today.) A friend of mine was a cop and he told me that she was cited for public urination downtown one night. Another time I had to take someone to the airport for an early flight (on like a Tuesday). We stopped at a local restaurant to grab a quick bite and there was the employee at the bar, very drunk. It was like 4:30 in the afternoon (and a Tuesday). There were other things but the last thing was that she stole a tuna fish sandwich from the cafeteria. She ended of resigning in lieu of termination. About 5 years later I got a reference call for her. I told the guy a lot of stories including the tuna fish sandwich. I only told him things that I knew to be true, not things like the sexual harassment allegation that may or may not be true. About a week later she called my office. (I hadn't spoken to her in about 5 years and I was at a completely different place of employment, so I have no idea how she got my number.) She just starts screaming at me for lying about her and telling me that she was going to get me. I told her that everything I said was true and hung up the phone. It's worse than that. HR is where sociopaths go to practice their malevolent craft with respectability.

As I said before, from talking to law-enforcement officers, most initial contact and complaints of sexual assault are false. This is officially contacting the police. An aspiring influencer with most likely thousands of paid for followers attempts to take down a bigger household name, not for altruistic reasons, but rather to help push their influencer status to greater heights.
It's a tale as old as social media. If it doesn't work, there will be more spousal verbal abuse videos.

But is she friends with Syd Dolla Sign?More on Wendi Keller’s knowledge base from
247 poster:
“Wendi Priest Keller is the mother of Gavin Priest who trained at M2 in high school wrestles for Arizona State.
Her Facebook friends include: Cael Sanderson's wife, Kelly; Cody Sanderson's wife, Sarah; Casey Cunningham's wife, Tara; Zain Retherford's wife, Julianna; Bo Nickal's sister, Jordan; Araron Brooks' mom, Adrienne; Jimmy Kennedy's wife/David Taylor's sister-in-law, Laney (Jimmy Kennedy's sister is David Taylor's wife); Anthony Cassar, Pat Mineo. She's also friends with a bunch of people connected to other people in the Az State and Ok State wrestling communities.
Seems safe to say she knows the greater State College wrestling community pretty well”
Unpopular opinion here but 2011 isn't a good comparison. I won't argue that now, it's old news. BUT CSA and SA allegations are polar opposites. Most initial SA reports to the police are bogus. They fall off quickly.

JS8793 is what I call clueless. You would think after so many high profile false allegations he would see a pattern.I'm anxious to hear @js8793 take on this. Is Wendi Keller just perpetrating another attack on the character of a woman from a generation we don't understand? What say you?
Absolutely not. This story or "story" has gained zero traction beyond the Collegian. The moment PSU (or Cael as a PSU employee) issues a statement, it's national news.At this point, does Cael or the university have to say anything?
Also, if this whole thing blows over, what a bad look for that writer. That’s giving the benefit of the doubt it hasn’t already blown over.

Besides, as the old adage (paraphrasing) says: Don't interfere when the other side is destroying itself.
Right now, recruits clearly haven't bought the story. Nobody has decommitted. No big name transfers of current wrestlers. I'm sure Cael is in on some big names, even in a light class. As you said, its business as usual.I think Cael/Penn State is caught in a rock and hard place.
I think Cael wants to release a statement because while this is a small scale story, it's hot in the wrestling world, which definitely matters to him. He has worked very hard to build his program up and people slandering it with hearsay allegations has to bother Cael to his core. Some jackasses even run with clearly fake rumors like his job is at risk.
But if he releases a statement, it increases the likelihood of it getting picked up by the nation, which is what the school cares about. I agree with Penn State's move right now, barring something new, just go business as usual. Cael clearly is confident in how he handled things.
At which point the story dies…P

The fact that PSU and the BIG keep handing Carter awards indicates they don't believe the story either.
I'm actually quite impressed Carter has kept quiet throughout all of this. He's letting Beau and Syd dig their own hole.
I'd bet the USA wrestling/Safe Sport suspension is a precautionary CYA on their part. I kinda see their side of it. You can't clear a guy to go to camps with kids who later turns out to be a predator. And yes, I also believe in due process. But this is not a legal proceeding. I have to think they'll do an investigation and reinstate Carter if nothing turns up.
On 247, some posters tested how you can report something to SafeSport. It's not a difficult process, can be anonymous and does not need submission of evidence, only testimony. The article and Sydney's report made them default suspend Carter. I wouldn't be shocked if US Wrestling wanted to show they are taking it seriously and it's just convenient to suspend Carter right now (Carter isn't competing in anything) If hypothetically Carter was the US rep, I imagine it wouldn't be the case just off of hearsay rumors.P
