I’ve got a decent vocabulary but the phrasing ‘not being a total simp for those choads’ stymied me until I looked it up. 😂. Even after I typed in the words, spellcheck corrected me three times. Not saying that I agree or disagree, but you’re getting a Like from me for that post! 😝
Hah! A wordsmith I am

I think Cael/Penn State is caught in a rock and hard place.

I think Cael wants to release a statement because while this is a small scale story, it's hot in the wrestling world, which definitely matters to him. He has worked very hard to build his program up and people slandering it with hearsay allegations has to bother Cael to his core. Some jackasses even run with clearly fake rumors like his job is at risk.

But if he releases a statement, it increases the likelihood of it getting picked up by the nation, which is what the school cares about. I agree with Penn State's move right now, barring something new, just go business as usual. Cael clearly is confident in how he handled things.

EDIT: I'd also add that it's smart to not release a statement because under no circumstances is it going to change anyone's mind. What's the point? You think those PSU Hate Burners and Iowa/Ok State fans will be like "Oh wow, Cael is a man of integrity"? No they run with fake stuff as is.

You and @El_Jefe make very good points. At first I thought it would've been good to release a statement early before it caught fire but if there's nothing to catch fire it could've had the reverse effect.

On 247, some posters tested how you can report something to SafeSport. It's not a difficult process, can be anonymous and does not need submission of evidence, only testimony. The article and Sydney's report made them default suspend Carter. I wouldn't be shocked if US Wrestling wanted to show they are taking it seriously and it's just convenient to suspend Carter right now (Carter isn't competing in anything) If hypothetically Carter was the US rep, I imagine it wouldn't be the case just off of hearsay rumors.

Also, in regards to Carter keeping quiet, he is 100% being advised by lawyers on both the Collegian Story and the SafeSport investigation. I imagine it's not easy for him to stay quiet (lol) but he's smart here. Don't be foolish and let legal experts advise you on what you should and shouldn't say based on the rules (which are always extremely complex)
I read that regarding Safe Sports. I wonder what their time frame is for completing their investigation.

Considering no known concrete evidence has come forth, I can't imagine they have much to look at. One police investigation failed to come up with evidence. No other police reports have been filed. All the team members interviewed by PSU legal have refuted any locker room claims. Do they attempt to contact and interview the alleged SA victims, who haven't even filed with the police?

Was just pondering how welcome BB will be at his new wrestling home. Gotta think folks will be a little leery dealing with him.
So probably true. He’s now like Bill Belichick. Or Prince Harry. You can’t deal with him without having to deal with the significant other. And, when you hire him, you might not get to interview the significant other, and even if you can interview the significant other, you probably don’t want to. Poor guy. So much baggage when he’s just starting out.

I’m not even assuming that the allegations are wrong, or right.

Right, you have two equally talented assistant coach candidates. One is married to an aspiring social media influencer-wannabe, who likes to stir the pot and create drama to get followers. The other candidate isn’t married to Syd. Who do you hire?

A week or so ago I said I wouldn’t trust Carter around female family or my stuff but I’d never hire Beau or Syd. I’m even more solid about the second but would potentially change my mind as things come to light.

The more I see with the social media clown, the more I trust Carter. It’s funny how it works.

Excellent point. I wonder if Beau has regrets. He has “bought” himself a situation where his chosen life partner will do nothing but alienate him from not only Penn State teammates but also potential future relationships.

I never advocate for divorce, but his best hope is to cut bait and get on with his life.

He's a 24 year old man who took part in the filming of his then fiancee in a bathtub talking about the size of her "opening". As a girl dad and Uncle, I wish I could unsee that trash. He's fully bought in, and not who we thought he was. Sadly, these things don't usually end in "cutting bait". He'll learn the hard way.
