Not us.

Miami/Colorado
Fordham/ North Texas
BC/St. John’s

I assume this was the rumored neutral court event RU was looking into? Can’t wait to see this years home cupcake selection.

Not a murderer’s row but they should be able to draw a little better with renewed excitement in the Fordham and SJU programs.

First game of triple header makes no sense monetarily. Another NYC team would at least draw some support.

I guess Rutgers hasn't learned anything from missing the tournament in March. Playing some high-profile early season tournaments/invitationals is a must moving forward.

RU wasn’t focused on Barclay Center. Since the SJU deal fell through they’ve been trying to land a game at Pru but it’s an uphill battle. Newark just isn’t as attractive a location as NYC for schools traveling here. There is a top Big12 school in discussions but not yet close to a done deal.

About the only place in the country Newark outranks in attractiveness is Camden.

Dec 10th is a NFL Sunday.....

LA Rams at Baltimore Ravens

Seattle at San Francisco

Buffalo at Kansas City

SUN NIGHT.....Phila at Dallas

Good luck getting a casual sports fan outside to Brooklyn, around 2 weeks before Christmas Day....last 2 weekends of Hoilday Shopping on weekend and NYC alternative things to do.

I prefer to blame the losses to SetonHall and Minnesota as the reason not getting in

Improve the win total by two ,and thus lowering the loss total the same, we get in

Even with the record we did have, most prognosticators thought we were in,

two more wins and there would have been no doubt

disagree with the strength of our conf schedule. Just don't lose 5-7 down the stretch and we were in (Probably still should have been).

The fact are the facts are we did lose games we should have won, and we did lose too many games down the stretch, and we didn’t have a quality OOC win. Had we had a quality OOC win we would have been in the tournament. We can’t wish away those losses but we can wish that we had played a stronger OOC schedule and given ourselves a chance.

There will always be bad losses. If you don’t give yourself the chances to have quality OOC wins you put yourself in a spot to get left out again. And quality wins gives you a better seed when you get in.

Very good arena and bars steps from it.

Fans from other schools can stay in crime ridden Manhattan and take the train to Newark for the game

So that our fans can complain about having to go into the City like last year. Too much for the bridge etc etc.

top big 12 team? Def not Kansas. Texas? But I would guess Baylor, They are Already making two trips to NY area for a mid week December MSG game vs Duke, and in November at Barclays pre season NIT. Maybe they extend their stay. Or the Duke game replaced the possible RU game

Funny because the consensus from some of the loudest voices on this board was that Rutgers was definitely in on Selection Sunday. They got absolutely humiliated.

The consensus from the entire basketball world was we were in. Until my last breath I will swear that the committee was making an example out of us and sending a message to the B1G. Either start performing better or don’t expect 9/10 bids a year.

The latest news on this isn’t looking great. Looking at Dec 22 or 23. Could be at UBS, Barclays or Pru. the potential opponent is a yawn. Basically, RU is late to the party and isn’t going to get choice pickings.

Humiliated? Who was humiliated? I think you were either triggered or just really sensitive.

Sounds awful. Let’s just pay for a money game at home against a good mid major then. Better to beat an SFA type at home than lose to St Bonnies on a neutral floor.

A P5 team that has been to the Dance twice in the last 15 years. One recent appearance. They project to be better than or equal to RU this year, though. So an upgrade over Temple but not what fans are really looking for. Especially with a Dec 21 or 22 date and could be at Barcay or UBS

In better news look for an announcement for an early Nov game against an old local rival.

I’m fine with anyone projected to possibly make the Dance or at least the NIT. Don’t care if it’s an exciting name at this point.

It’s not close enough to 100% for the P5 opponent. SJU and one other P5 prospect already fell through. This one could, too. It’s more important to note that RU is legit trying to get a P5 opponent for a NYC area neutral site.
Why’s it so hard to lock an opponent down? There’s 80-100 reasonable choices
