No. I definitely think Biden had diminished mental capabilities. That is one of the major problems with politicians, they don’t know when to let go of the power or the people around them.
Look at Diane Feinstein in the end. I don’t have evidence to back up my opinion here, but she wasn’t making any of those decisions.

Elon is an honest actor. He isn't trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. He doesn't have some ulterior motive. He has the highest security clearances possible and has had them for many years.

Did FEMA use disaster funds on migrants in NY?
How much did Chelsea Clinton make from USAID?
Did the celebrities get paid to go to Ukraine by USAID?
With as much information as he has access to, and as much power as he has, it does not hurt anything to take 2 seconds to verify some of the **** that he throws out there. Show the payments to the world. If Chelsea Clinton herself got paid 84mm, PLEASE LOCK HER UP and anyone that helped her. They have all the access. That is an easy shut and close case. I honestly want anyone committing the type of fraud they're suggesting to be charged. But I am tired of all the suggestions of fraud without anything to back it up but a screenshot of a public budget line.
I do want our government to be honest. But am tired of our government officials trolling (that goes both ways btw), or making suggestions they haven't confirmed etc. It is one thing for someone on a message board to suggest a connection, or see one piece of information and suggest a connection to something else. But it's another thing for people with the size of following as our government officials to suggest publicly some of the things they are.
You're pissed at our funds going overseas? Great! Be pissed about that, vote for people who will put a stop to it, etc. Why aren't they focused on that? Why do they not just say THAT rather than the constant banging of the fraud drum? Why make a conspiracy, rather than a disagreement on the use of our budget, which is what it really is? The USAID budget is public and a fraction of the total budget. You say there's widespread SS, Medicare/caid fraud? Great! Let's root it out! But why sing about it before it's proven? Find them, prosecute them, cut off the payments to actual dead people etc, and then tell me the savings or people put in prison. Would truly love that. But the way it's been presented, before anything has actually been researched/found/prosecuted, and often presenting as if its somehow a giant plot by the other side, also ridiculous. I don't find any of that to be honest acting. Constantly trying to turn anything into something your school yard rival is doing. I find it childish. I think that those that lead us should try to be at minimum as professional as the level 1 Analysts that I would hire. I think all it does, by twisting what the issue actually is, is hurt your argument. If they were presenting things as verified fraud, we'd like to go after it, I don't think you'd have the pushback. But by presenting everything as a plot, or fraud when it may be wasteful, you are losing people like me who are completely open to catching criminals and rooting out actual fraud.

Regardless what I think about DOGE, I have been interested to hear many moderates/right leaning Pubs I know who voted for Trump, now being very concerned about what DOGE is doing.
My MIL was freaked out to hear that he was trying to eliminate the Department of Education. I was like, "He said he was going to do that" and she said," I didn't think he actually would"
Also hearing a lot of concerns of the folks who have been eliminated from the National Park Service. That hits very close to home, particularly after Helene.
I'll be curious to see what the feelings are once the real impacts start to happen. You screw with Old Folks Medicare or SS and they will lose their **** on you.

The craziest thing for me is my father's cousin and his family have always been hard-core, center-right Republicans and we grew apart from them after they bombed us with daily pro-Trump emails during his first term.
Suddenly, they're alarmed as hell about what he's doing to this country and now they're flooding facebook daily with anti-Trump/Elon posts. The rest of us are shocked by their conversion but we figured it was only a matter of time before he went too far for the average center-right Republican. Methinks it's downhill from here .

Agreed, but I would also say that DOGE and their fans need to quit presenting information the way they are which invites Hysterical Overeactins, from both sides.
I wish there was a more professional presentation,it would give me more confidence that this wasn't just for political hit points.
I initially think that it's a great idea to look into. It's also really common for most large companies, you pay for access and the. The employees leave, change roles etc and the licenses are annual.
To me,the smarter process to cut would be to assign a reduction target to each department, have them suggest what can be cut, and look for inefficiency.

That's a random question from an account that I don't trust but if it's true and it needs fixing, then sure.
Instead of just looking for ways to cut, we are looking for ways to streamline so that the same mistakes are not made in the future. Design a system or negotiate contracts so that we do not have excess. That is all we are asking for. If someone was paying attention, we would never have thousands of extra subscriptions that are not being used. You, correctly, point out that there are some valid reasons for overlap, but the person in charge it's their job to streamline that. Why hasn't it been done? I think that is where people are frustrated.
You being in the private business world know that every $ counts. Competition is tough. When we see government dollars wasted like that we think of how many hours it would take for us to make that kind of money. We think of it as bloat. That doesn't mean your observations are incorrect. We are just demanding better performance. We want accountability in government equal to, or greater than, the scrutiny we face in the private world.
Put the government expenses on the blockchain for the world to see. That would be a good start. Let us see what we are spending our money. Who sponsored the bill and who voted for / against it. Let that be searchable on the blockchain for the world to see. If we have accountability, it will be harder for things to get out of hand. I don't think much of the public knew what our money was being spent on.

Couple that with people actually having to write a check to pay their taxes instead of having it deducted from their paycheck, and I think accountability for Government spending will come very fast and stick around for a long time.
