I wouldn’t be shocked if they beat us in the same fashion as PSU. They do a lot of the similar things but with less talent.
Now, don’t leave out their last second FG win over Michigan State yesterdayThey might. Their schedule is more impressive than ours - they clobbered Minnesota 41-3 and Wisconsin 37-0, beat PSU, and their 4 losses are to:
ISU by 3 (instate rival)
Indiana by 5
Oregon by 2
USC by 5
I don’t like our chances against them.
I'd take a last second FG win over a 4 touchdown *** whipping any day. Now, don’t leave out their last second FG win over Michigan State yesterday
I think we'll play great and win or lose a close one again.I wouldn’t be shocked if they beat us in the same fashion as PSU. They do a lot of the similar things but with less talent.
lol…Iowa certainly isn’t happy with a 7 win season.Gosh, two lame teams...one with a fan base that is unhappy about 7 wins and the other that celebrates 7 win seasons.
We should feel lucky that Iowa in recent years has coasted and kept the games close versus the blowout victories they gave us in the earlier years of joining the conference.Like I said, Iowa fans have said that they played bad against MSU because they were "looking ahead" to this game. This game is their entire season, the live for it and for that magical meaningless bowl game.
Interesting that is who you thought I was talking about it.lol…Iowa certainly isn’t happy with a 7 win season.
idk guys Rhule said we're gonna be real focused
I'm predicting huskers by 50 and if you disagree you can go back to the Iowa board
I love your optimism but don’t share it.I think we'll play great and win or lose a close one again.
No, 1-3 points will suffice. Gets them to their high water mark of eight wins and another super successful season. Grab that HyVee trophy!I wouldn’t be shocked if they beat us in the same fashion as PSU. They do a lot of the similar things but with less talent.
That’s a tired old narrative that isn’t even remotely true. The realistic goal with every P4 program should be to make the playoffs or at the very least be in the mix the last 2-3 weeks of the season. It’s basically the NFL mentality now days. Playoffs or GTFO.Gosh, two lame teams...one with a fan base that is unhappy about 7 wins and the other that celebrates 7 win seasons.
No kidding?I'd take a last second FG win over a 4 touchdown *** whipping any day.
If Iowa wanted more they would try to do more. Take a gamble and make Kirk retire and try a different coach. Kirk does well but do you see Iowa getting to the playoffs with him? That’s a tired old narrative that isn’t even remotely true. The realistic goal with every P4 program should be to make the playoffs or at the very least be in the mix the last 2-3 weeks of the season. It’s basically the NFL mentality now days. I'm not predicting anything, but NU couldn't shake the MINN issue on a year when NU was clearly better.I love your optimism but don’t share it.![]()
Zeke, you made the dumba*s comment, not me.No kidding?
My point is the poster selected the games where Iowa did well and left out ones where they struggled.
It is true for your program...#WinningSeasonThat’s a tired old narrative that isn’t even remotely true. The realistic goal with every P4 program should be to make the playoffs or at the very least be in the mix the last 2-3 weeks of the season. It’s basically the NFL mentality now days. That is 100% my point. Iowa brainwashed their fans into thinking that they could not recruit or compete with "the big boys" and their fans fell for it.If Iowa wanted more they would try to do more. Take a gamble and make Kirk retire and try a different coach. Kirk does well but do you see Iowa getting to the playoffs with him?
actions speak louder than words. Keep Kirk and that is an action that Iowa is in fact happy with 7-8-9 wins.
Since this was GIVEN to be that automatic 3rd year magic, only those who were singing that double-digit win nonsense should be eating the crow. So, this board is jumping to extremes, yet you have NU at 9-4? LOLHuskers win by 10. Iowa barely beat lonely MSU at home on Senior Day. What makes you think they come into Lincoln and light us up?
We finish the regular season 8-4 and another year of surpassing our season win total of last year. Good recruits coming in and excited to see what they do in the portal. This board loves to jump to extremes. IF. We finish 9-4 counting a bowl win of course. A lot of you will have to eat crow. Which I'm sure you'll find an excuse to complain about.
Because like Minnesota, for some reason, they enjoy beating us more than other programs.Huskers win by 10. Iowa barely beat lonely MSU at home on Senior Day. What makes you think they come into Lincoln and light us up?
Wait, the iowa players play with more heart and it means more to them but they never win anything at all? Good lordBecause like Minnesota, for some reason, they enjoy beating us more than other programs.
Our history of greatness is not lost on them. So if they can serve up the humble pie, nice and cold, they’re gonna do that. How many Nebraska kids play meaningful minutes for the Huskers? At Iowa, it’s more than a handful. Just means more to them.
They might. Their schedule is more impressive than ours - they clobbered Minnesota 41-3 and Wisconsin 37-0, beat PSU, and their 4 losses are to:

In the last five FULL seasons Iowa has won 10 games in three of those. And 8 games in the other two. Iowa hasn’t has as a losing record in 13 years. If Iowa wanted more they would try to do more. Take a gamble and make Kirk retire and try a different coach. Kirk does well but do you see Iowa getting to the playoffs with him?
actions speak louder than words. Keep Kirk and that is an action that Iowa is in fact happy with 7-8-9 wins.
Kirk is Iowa personified and I hope he sticks around. This isn't a compliment. In the last five FULL seasons Iowa has won 10 games in three of those. And 8 games in the other two. Iowa hasn’t has as a losing record in 13 years.
Trust me many times I’ve wanted KF gone after games but probably not as much as Nebraska fans want him gone.
