Does Iowa beat us by double digits?

I’ve been VERY salty on the team during and after the PSU loss but not so fast!

I think we all should throw the records and stats by either team out the window right now. When we play Iowa on Black Friday like every year it’s going to be chippy, physical, and close. It will come down to whoever makes the fewest mistakes of course. Pretty much every year it’s been us that has the meltdown - whether it be special teams and gifting turnovers. I like our improvements in those areas this year and I like that the game is at home!

Iowa is tough, but I think we beat them. Iowa is favored by 5 in the early line, but I bet that line goes down. I think we pull out all of the stops and come out super focused. The only thing that makes me nervous is that Iowa is like Penn State and it's not a good match up for us. They are physical, tough and they run the ball well.

Like I said, Iowa fans have said that they played bad against MSU because they were "looking ahead" to this game. This game is their entire season, the live for it and for that magical meaningless bowl game.
We should feel lucky that Iowa in recent years has coasted and kept the games close versus the blowout victories they gave us in the earlier years of joining the conference.

Short week to prepare for Iowa. Wait... Short week, bye week, like that effin' matters. This staff couldn't prepare a salad at an all you can eat salad bar.

Iowa by 2+ scores.

Gosh, two lame teams...one with a fan base that is unhappy about 7 wins and the other that celebrates 7 win seasons.
That’s a tired old narrative that isn’t even remotely true. The realistic goal with every P4 program should be to make the playoffs or at the very least be in the mix the last 2-3 weeks of the season. It’s basically the NFL mentality now days. Playoffs or GTFO.

If Iowa wanted more they would try to do more. Take a gamble and make Kirk retire and try a different coach. Kirk does well but do you see Iowa getting to the playoffs with him?
actions speak louder than words. Keep Kirk and that is an action that Iowa is in fact happy with 7-8-9 wins.

I love your optimism but don’t share it. 😕
I'm not predicting anything, but NU couldn't shake the MINN issue on a year when NU was clearly better.
NU has still never beaten USC as this year's game had them at home in a night game.
No guarantees NU will reverse the near domination IA has had on them for almost a decade.

We continue to be mired one baby step above mediocre.

Huskers win by 10. Iowa barely beat lonely MSU at home on Senior Day. What makes you think they come into Lincoln and light us up?

We finish the regular season 8-4 and another year of surpassing our season win total of last year. Good recruits coming in and excited to see what they do in the portal. This board loves to jump to extremes. IF. We finish 9-4 counting a bowl win of course. A lot of you will have to eat crow. Which I'm sure you'll find an excuse to complain about.

That is 100% my point. Iowa brainwashed their fans into thinking that they could not recruit or compete with "the big boys" and their fans fell for it.

So you play 3 lame teams in the non-con, hope to go 2-1 at the very worst...then you HOPE your conference schedule has all lame teams so you can get that magical #WinningSeason

Since this was GIVEN to be that automatic 3rd year magic, only those who were singing that double-digit win nonsense should be eating the crow. So, this board is jumping to extremes, yet you have NU at 9-4? LOL

Honestly, you sound like an 8th grader.

Because like Minnesota, for some reason, they enjoy beating us more than other programs.

Our history of greatness is not lost on them. So if they can serve up the humble pie, nice and cold, they’re gonna do that. How many Nebraska kids play meaningful minutes for the Huskers? At Iowa, it’s more than a handful. Just means more to them.

Wait, the iowa players play with more heart and it means more to them but they never win anything at all? Good lord

They might. Their schedule is more impressive than ours - they clobbered Minnesota 41-3 and Wisconsin 37-0, beat PSU, and their 4 losses are to:
ISU by 3 (instate rival)
Indiana by 5
Oregon by 2
USC by 5

I don’t like our chances against them.

I do hope you are right. QB play will be another key on Black Friday ⚫️

In all four of those losses, QB Mark Gronowski wasn't the top QB on the field.

TE play is something I always look when Iowa is playing.

Ultimately, all games start at the line of scrimmage.

In the last five FULL seasons Iowa has won 10 games in three of those. And 8 games in the other two. Iowa hasn’t has as a losing record in 13 years.

Trust me many times I’ve wanted KF gone after games but probably not as much as Nebraska fans want him gone.

Kirk is Iowa personified and I hope he sticks around. This isn't a compliment.
