Good lord, I don't even know the actual first name of your coach and you know the contract details of our coach?

You follow our team more than you follow your team!
And yet she's winning at what she does. Gotta admire that and shake your head at them's that are making it happen.

Yeah what better what to tell a QB to come here than to leak the announcement of your former QB. Way to show you support your guys no matter what. 👍
He 'leaked' nothing.
The Raiola camp had plenty of time to announce that the golden boy was quitting on his team and fan base. They didn't do that, so the ball bounce into the other court.

I sure hope Dylan finds a new home soon. Not that I don't like Dylan, but I am afraid he will find out he can't get nowhere near as much money anywhere else. Matt Rhule will then come to his rescue and pay him 2-3 million dollars more than any other school to stay in Lincoln. That is the Husker way.

I share your concern. It IS the brand to make these types of inexplicable financial decisions.

I don't care. That fat dude who was a QB at Kentucky then the NFL years ago is a better QB. He and Roethlisberger were they only fat QBs I've seen. Dylan will never make it only off his arm in the NFL. Don't see it.
there was another fat qb from duke he beat nebraska 1955 orange bowl 34-7 his name was sonny jurgenson went on to a good nfl career.

Agreed. Rhule had better pull his balls out and shut any return down. Raiola made his choice. PO.

Is Dylan getting 2 million worse than Rhule getting 80 million?
Who cares?

Its all ****** in the scenario under consideration, and a movie we have seen time and time again. Unearned extensions, ******** buyouts, and routine pants-down fleecings of the University's treasury for no good reason.

But to answer your direct question, Rhule getting 80 is worse.

michigan #1 qb 5 million, unlv qb 1.5 million, old dominion qb 1.5 million...
8 million and we are set at qb.

texas rb, mich state rb and north texas rb, 1.5 million each
4.5 million and we are set at rb.

email the invoice to warren, why do us plebeians have to figure everything out all the time?

tell them they will be put on the feild to score a touchdown, if they don't there's the bench till it's convenient for us to put you back out there again.

We wouldn’t be so lucky to have him stay for one more year. People thinking we’re going to find an upgrade in the portal are kidding themselves. Lateef showed why he was a backup. Dylan with 2 years of P5 experience is greater than Lateef as a true soph. Yeah, I understand the weaknesses in Dylan’s skill set. Returning a maybe somewhat humbled Dylan could be the best we can hope.

I respectfully disagree, Dingle. If we can get a somewhat above average OL in place, ANY quarterback who can hit a receiver more than 25 yards down field in stride on even half his throws will give us a much greater chance of success than what DR has shown in two seasons.

Dylan gets relentlessly trashed on here and most have bought in to the group think. Yeah he has limitations but the idea that some lukewarm portal QB is somehow going to be better is questionable at best. IMO IF we go portal, I would rather see an FCS or D2 guy who has won at those levels with an outstanding TD to INT ratio and completion percentage. Were not going to get a top D-1 portal QB. There are too many playoff teams who need QBs and don’t play our schedule next fall.

And dominos fall.

It is clear that Raiola wanted out so he left. The reason could be because of the system, the results on the field, his QB coach in Dallas and what he was getting in Lincoln being contrary, who knows, who cares? He made his choice so now it is time to find the best available guy.

Waiting around like a jilted lover hoping for the person to come back to you is weak ***.

Why do you always have such a loser's mentality Dingle? There's no reason we shouldn't be able to attract a top portal qb if Rhule is not a liar and funds aren't a problem like Preacher Rhule stated as fact.

Ah yes

The guy who can’t figure out how to call timeouts after a decade of coaching is definitely playing chess here

Dylan is just a spoiled entitled rich kid doing spoiled entitled rich kid stuff (basically he’s everything everyone here accused shedeur of being minus the actual good play and 9-win season)
It's shocking how prevalent this problem is even on the g5 level. So often in games i'll be running the numbers and a coach will go for when a fg would get them to 8, Or when they go for 2 when a pat and fg ties it. So strange they need to hire a madden player to ask what to do in those situations lol.

Getting a top portal QB isn't always necessary. Everyone wants to compare Nebraska rebuild to Indiana rebuild, Indiana took a 5th year QB from Ohio, that was a middle of the road type player, surrounded him with talented players and improved.

We need a better system in place rather than trying to get a hot shot QB. We need an identity

I’m not advocating for us to wait around for him. I just don’t think it’s likely we’re going to land somebody better than him from the portal. We’ll see. Would love for Kienholz from OSU to enter the portal and land in Lincoln.

I’ve already stated the obvious reason. We’re not an attractive destination for a starting QB wanting to improve their draft status unless they’re from an FBS or D2 program. We could offer more money and still get turned down. Gronowski from SD State supposedly got 3 million from Iowa and they at least have put several QBs in the NFL fairly recently. I don’t understand the logic of bashing our O line, our OC and our head coach and then thinking a top portal QB is going to choose to come to NU for similar money as a playoff team is offering. Makes zero sense.

Middle of the road player from Ohio who still got drafted after a major injury? He was better than a middle of the road QB. Not to say I would t take a guy like that right now because I’m not sold that TJ is the answer.

With EJ toting the rock I liked our identity. Add a QB who poses some run threat and is efficient in the passing game and you have the basis of your offense.

We had no identity and a lot of that may have been our OL play. When we were legendary we built an identity over 25 some years.

Didn't read any of the prior posts, but I heard a few things last weekend that have me believing this was a lot closer to Nebraska moving on than vice versa. Coming into this season I really thought that team chemistry was going to be a strength, but in retrospect it's pretty hard to have team chemistry when it's all about one guy. How this all played out had a lot more to do with Dannen than with Rhule. Our AD finally had enough and basically said "don't let the door hit you on the way out." Kind of explains the lack of a thank you note.

This statement is incorrect because it misrepresents both the situation and the people involved. Dylan Raiola made the decision to leave on his own, based on personal and individual considerations, and not because of Matt Rhule/Dannen.

he was a 7th round pick and hasn't seen the field yet. Regardless, he wasn't a top player in the portal when Indiana signed him. That is the point.
