This would check a lot of boxes. As I said earlier I also agree Mo will be back. The Brands are control freaks and overreact. I appreciate everything they have done but the act grew old after about 5-6 seasons in. I've been ready to move on for over a decade. But I thought I can put up with the act as they can coach. But its really obvious they arent developing individuals to a level that is satisfactory anymore. I dont have any faith they will do much with a good 27 class.

Again if they didnt have Bobs checkbook to bail them out of holes in the lineup-how bad would it really look?

I will never understand why some in this cult think Iowa wrestling will cease to exist without the Brands brothers.
Im starting to suspect without Bob they may have fallen deeper but had a shovel in hand to get back out.

With all the dough being slung around there seems to be an empty spot where chemistry and pride used to be.

Yeah, because we dont take brocks word as 100% gospel, means we dont feel brands has any responsibility in this fiasco or any other issues with iowa wrestling.

So no public source like an NCAA publication or law office addressing booster NIL contracts?

Why don't you ask your guy whether that NIL $ is from university revenue sharing that resulted from the House settlement?

Then ask him whether he's been involved in the university NIL collective (funded by boosters) or other independent 3rd Party booster contracts, and whether they can include team participation or performance clauses by NCAA rule?

We might get somewhere.

Dammit, dude.

You Googled it.

I heard it straight from one of the horse's mouths.

Hmmm...who to believe? Who's more credible?

Gosh, I just don't know?

And for effs sake, revenue sharing isn't NIL. Did you not already say this in an earlier post? Why are you suddenly trying to convolute the two now?

Is it because you're putting up smoke screens to CYA for being wrong? Yes. Yes it is. LOL

I indicated people are loose with dIfferent aspects of the House Settlement governing NIL and confused about the rules that apply to each.

Revenue sharing is a direct result of the House settlement regarding NIL.

Like athletic scholarships before them, to receive a portion of the revenue sharing, an athlete must have a rostered position.

Yes, I will believe the source materials I've read over hearsay.

Apparently if you are a state champ who tried to wrestle at Iowa but couldn't make the lineup and you transfer to D2,D3 or NAIA you are subject to being called weak or a quitter if you question the cult or its leader.

Iowa wrestling might be inching closer to Scientology than Penn State.

Well when his explanation of what transpired made absolutely zero sense and was pretty much used as a chance to **** on the Brands…he should probably expect to be called out for it

So quarterbacks and edge rushers getting six or seven figures to play football are all being paid by revenue sharing and not NIL? With so many athletes in the football portal (4,000?), it seems to me that the average NIL GO number that you posted would be a lot higher than $7500.

Does anyone have an idea what the IOWA Football revenue share number is versus the $1MM that wrestling is reported to have received?

The NIL deals for football players are much higher because they are considered more marketable than wrestlers.

You clearly know nothing about the situation which is understandable. It wasn't a team Doctor it was Mo's Doctor. The team staff wanted him to get a cortisone shot and keep wrestling. Brands wanted a full return on Bob's investment and Mo wants what is best for lifelong well being. They have reached a point where they can't agree. This will probably mend itself but not in time for the PSU dual. I'm sorry for sharing the truth. Ask Brands and see if he denies it. This is exactly what happened.

Agree, for the record brock was a 3 time st champ and woupd of made team without diabetes. Hard worker and talented as hell. Went on to walk thru D3 nattys after he got his diabetes right. I think the grind of D1 with diabetes may of been tough. I saw how it affected him. It was sad. No im not brock. Just a fan of his wrestling.

Apparently a guy can publicly criticize Brands (or anyone for that matter) on the internet but if anyone dares to criticize that person,.oh the horror.

Let's assume this is all true:

1) Mo has a bulged disk
2) Mo got multiple medical opinions
3) Mo goes with option Tom doesn't like
4) Tom kicks Mo off the team

People get multiple medical opinions all the time often resulting in multiple treatment options. People go with the option they feel is best for them. Why should it be any different for student athletes?

Do we really think this is a good look for the program?

Do we really think Beth should tolerate this behavior from one of her coaches?

How can you say somebody’s gonna make the team without diabetes? That’s the blindest statement I’ve ever read. Sucks that he has the condition but for somebody to say for sure silly
