Well, that rating has a guy named Boban Marjanovic (a guy I have literally never heard of) as the third most efficient player in the league so I'm not real sure how they get those numbers.
I'm asking you since you seem to be super knowledgeable, do you not view 10 ppg, 4.5 rpg on over 50% shooting and only 1 TO per game as "efficient"? Tough grader.
You conveniently placed his effective field goal percentage as his actual shooting percentage? That seems reasonable... I wasn't using any opinions, grades, or assessments. I simply stated he was not an efficient player according to the PER rankings. He was in the 33rd percentile. That's a fact, not an opinion.
Umm, I also provided facts. I like them too. I guess we can all find facts to support our point of view. But when he signs his contract, I guess I'll be right and you'll all be wrong. because apparently some team found him to be valuable. But please, carry on with your Harrison Barnes bashing.
Again, all I provided were facts. Hard to digest? Barnes is a nice player, I'm not disputing that. He will get a very lucrative contract, I'm also not disputing that. But as I said in another thread, he is dispensable to Golden State. They can easily find another athlete with an average/above average outside shot. He's not a play-maker, he's not an alpha dog. On a lesser team I suppose he could average 16-18 ppg - but I would also expect his field goal percentages to drop a bit. Curry/Thompson/Green demand so much attention that he is often left wide open. I would be willing to bet he has the highest percentage of open-looks among all the starters in the NBA.
The point of my original post was not to state whether Barnes was a good player or not, but simply to dispute your claim that he was "a pretty efficient player." Questioning the statistical model that lists Carl Landry and Cole Aldrich as efficient players is highly irrelevant to the point of contention I'm making. I'm not debating whether Barnes, or Landry, or anyone is a great player. I'm debating whether or not Barnes is an efficient player. According to the data found in the player efficiency ratings, he is not. Simple as that.
