Like everything else in college football today if a player chooses to renege on his verbal so be it. Not gonna lose sleep over it. Would it be a disappointment for the staff and team ? Don’t think they really give 2 … It does happen and $$$$ plays an even bigger part in 2024. As an additional question … is he rated and 89 *** star on 247 site?

The father is not “just being honest.”

He’s just being an embarrassment, primarily to himself, then to his son.
Agree

It’s not” being honest” - it’s being a jackass and disrespectful to his son

We all know top recruits like this continue to get pursued and that their “handlers” probably continue to seek the best deal

But all the dad did was **** on his son’s decision …publicly

Michigan is his Dads favorite school he said on his twitter. I don’t think this story is over, Dad sounds like d@@che. Not counting my chickens that he comes. Holding Schiano hostage won’t end well. He don’t play that sh$t. Nor should he.

The father’s response was strange in so many ways. Even just the timing.
But it is an obvious play on NIL money.
My gut tells me the Dad is looking at it like it is his money.,,
What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is mine

But he won't take it out on the kid.

There are very few ways a fan can actually impact the outcomes. One of them is shitting on the parents of a recruit in public. What happens next next is an intelligence test.

Yeah- I don’t think this is on the kid at all. I just don’t get some parents- when we went through it- we were very heavily involved until it came down to 3 schools we all agreed on and then let him make the final choice 100% on his own.
Yeah the guy made a mistake and his second comment was very supportive of RU. I'm over it.

“College X promised i would start year 1 and college Y promised $250k more in NIL.

Nonetheless I was ready to stick with Rutgers because I made a real connection with the team, the program and the school.

Even more importantly, I was, and still am, convinced that Coach Schiano and his staff will prepare me far better for the next level than any other program.

But once I went on the Rutgers.rivals message board and read that some random fan had a negative thing to say about my dad’s comment. Well, I just de-committed right then and there”

Exactly. Not a good look for Rutgers fans here.
I dont think it's a bad look either. It was a very public statement which raised a bunch of eyebrows and garnered some comments in defense of our Scarlet Knights. Unfortunately it diverted the attention away from the awesome news of Archie committing. The good thing is he realized his errors and tried to smooth it out.
