"Bought" Johns. And look at that list. You can't be surprised but rest of those teams cause they actually have had some respectable history recently and in the past. Golden boy Johnies in the past, but we've seen how irreverent they are before NIL and Pitino came. The media has been trying to force us the Pitino legacy and cringe. You can't tell me St John's wouldn't be this good with the even playing field.
I don't want to b e hypocrite cause we could've been like this, bt at least I know we were legit developing and getting tournament teams without the need to pay money. And I thin we are honest our fans aren't the most perfect and don't try to act we are some forgotten blue blood like St Johns media PR to try to force on us.
It's funny cause I saw a Providence online say a similar thing and talking how St Johns fans were showing similar support before Pitino but now fans want to act they have supported St Johns like the Knicks lol.
I think SJ would have been at a similar level whether NIL or not. Pitino is a great coach, and he has always figured out how to get the players he needed, by being a great recruiter, players being drawn to him because he is a great coach or doing whatever is needed to get players whether by the rules or not.
So they say and we will never know. When discussing school budgets or players' salaries, that is the realm of rumor, not fact.
Of course this is the only answer. 40+ years of winning league titles, making the NCAA and making final 4s during stops at Boston University, Providence, Kentucky (on probation), Louisville, and Iona tells us the answer.
MWC need to stay humble. After stealing our bid in 2024 by shamelessly treating their conference like the ACC or Big 10 having 6 teams just because the year before SDSU had one miracle run.
Won’t ever get over that conference playing a huge part in us getting snubbed in 2024.

Does an Auburn who is getting 16 chances at big wins and hits the broadside of the barn twice have more well roundedness than a mid major who has the system against them for getting any valuable quality ooc runs a table against less stellar comp but stubs toe champ week. Meanwhile the premise of ncaa tourney is 1 and done, any given game something could happen. Does the most talented team win the natty every year? I would say no. It is the team that can best navigate bracket, matchups, how a ref squad is limiting or being liberal on a game call.
2004 1st round I don't think SHU was more talented than Arizona. I do think Arizona stopped thinking they had to play much after the under 16 timeout in the 2nd half and perhaps admired what they had done up until that point. However, hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard.
