Pretty unimpressive night. Payne, Fisher were good. Not much else to like. A step backwards from the St. Peter's win. Lousy broadcast by ESPN+ as well. Can't even get a box score from ESPN website of our ESPN broadcasted game. "Data is currently unavailable" World wide leader, eh? Oh well, on to Fairfield.

My gut is that's it's the school fault. If you go to the SHU athletic site to pull a box score they have us losing by 2 or 4 points depending when you hit the link. The scoreboard at the game was wrong throughout having wrong players in the game when they were sitting on the bench for as long as 5-10 minutes. Especially in the first half.

Just went to the link after I posted above. It now has us losing by a point. So in the last half hour it had us losing by 1 point, 2 points and 4 points.

I'll never understand the total line shift. Rotate guys in 2's. Keep Clark in and pull right before timeouts. He sets up so much the team looked awful without him. Just too many guys playing and that's with 3 injured
I don’t like it either, but Shaheen is obviously committed to it. I cannot see it changing unless we get bit badly by the injury bug.

Not as good as they looked against St. Peter’s and not as bad as they looked against Wagner.
Exactly …. All in all, given the W, not a bad result, very much in line with what this team will probably give us over the long haul.

Going back to the ‘80s, the ceiling for this year is really like the team that had the “breakthrough” by reaching the NIT against Canisius. A blowout win tonight would have brought out a lot of crazy talk over the next few days. They are better than last year, but no need like I saw elsewhere on here to be concerned about metrics. Be prepared for some ups and downs, with no following Lunardi or any of those guys. This is basically what .500 high-major teams do.

Effort ok, not great, defensive rotations seemed a little slow. Payne, Fisher, Simpkins good, Clark better than the first game, he was penetrating the defense. Wagner shot really well, especially the Awoke dude. Wagner coach energetic. Payne good, dominated inside, probably the difference. Need to play better against Big East schools.

Can confirm: the stat feed system was wrong the whole game.

Let's just say that a bunch of Div2 and JC studs put on an eye opening performance with a stand in coach. This was either a fluke or a harbinger of things to come for both teams. The Wagner kids looked really good for some reason. Even had me wishing we had some of them.

Two games in but we had the discussion about easy/close wins when everyone made predictions. So far it’s 1-1.

I was on the cautious side, as integrating 10 new players, roster question marks and Sha’s play-deep style making for closer games.

The stats were messed up by the school and the game had to be rewatched to correct them.

Still not on ESPN or the athletic site. I'll look for them now on Fox.
