Kentucky played without 3 starters but still a good result for G'Town as Kentucky is loaded.
This is Cooley's deepest roster at Georgetown. They spent a lot and brought in a lot of High Major players in the Portal. They are big and physical and have a few guys who are good defensive players. And they have 2 big-time offensive players in Mack and KJ Lewis.
Cooley has lost some respect as a coach. KenPom has GTown as 10th in the BE with the same projected BE record as SH. That would be criminal with his roster. The talent is top half of the BE and arguably 3rd or 4th.

Cooley’s done a poor job to date. They had major talent last season as well. Even year 1 wasn’t devoid. His lack of success at Gtown doesn’t get discussed as much here because it’s him and it’s Gtown.
Georgetown’s season will come down to whether Malik Mack can score efficiently and in volume and whether KJ Lewis becomes a good secondary (or primary) offensive option. Last night was obviously a good sign for both.
I disagree here, Georgetown's talent at the 1-3 spots is very good but their frontcourt is terrible.
BTW, this time last year, Malik Mack was Budd Clark.
