It’s amazing how no matter which NY/NJ sports team you pick, their fans have had reasons to be really disappointed in just the past year.

Whenever teams melt in epic fashion it’s a slew of things. Just absurd.

*A kicker can’t make XP’s, now 3 in 2 weeks. 3!!

*A defense goes on the field needing to close it out drops 8, 4 of which are training camp players and downs rely on its strength or a top player on the sideline (Lawrence).

*Defense gives up 33 points and 230+ yards in a quarter!

*Instead of forcing Broncos final timeout and punt, making them drive the field, the rookie QB throws a pick on his own 30.

Can't miss extra points, Rutgers kicker needs to go. Secondary, with backups playing in the 4th quarter, where horrible, no pressure on the quarterback late in the game- had blocked numerous passes through out he game then no pressure. Bring back Wink Martindale. Gut-wrenching defeat.

It was just brutal. No way this was worse than the real epic loss to the 49er in the 2002 playoff game. The Giants in that game were playing at very high level and had a 38- 14 lead in the 3rd Quarter on the road. That game ended with mass confusion and the refs fouling up the last play. Also, the Wld Card game at home against the Vikings in 1997. They totally blew a sizable lead in the 4th Quarter. Chris Calloway muffed an on side kick. Those were devastating losses.

Yes, this one is up there. Ridiculous about the kicking game. I have wanted them to use a draft pick for a few years to obtain a new kicker. For me way more important than drafting a player to be used on Special Teams.

Come on with this Defensive Coordinator. The Giants have enough good players. True the injuries hurt. The altitude? Maybe. Absolutely, no reason to not learn from the Cowboy game. Rush 3? No reason to have such a limited rush. Plus,Nix who I like has an issue with balls being batted down at the line. So why eliminate that variable??

Daboll has been chasing the 2 point play for his whole tenure even when he has a reliable kicker. On the other side making a 2 point play against the Giants looks to be an easy proposition. We could go on and on. Dart does look to be the leader moving forward. The Silver Lining.

eh think the rush 3 is overblown. if anything they should rush less. Nix didn't have time to mess around so a sack is unlikely.

sounds like the depth in the secondary is a bunch of bums and honestly they deserve a lot of blame too.

All the criticisms for yesterday are warranted. But with the way we beat the defending Super Bowl champ last week and it was ignored here, you would have thought SHU beat the Eagles lofl

What do expect from a kicker who played for Rutgers.:)
Seriously, no excuse to have a paid professional kicker who cannot convert a point after on the squad.
I blame the GM

Backup kicker -- not that it excuses him.

Graham Gano, the regular kicker, was injured before the KC game and has been on IR since Week 4.

Just play the defense you played for most of the game. 3 man Rush allows time for Receivers to find gaps in zones further than should be allowed. Plus the cushion is too much like Dallas. Giants also led at New Orleans and basically same crap.

In both New Orleans and Denver games Giants had great success going to multiple TE's. They go totally away in second halves???????

im still stinging from this game... The RU kicker should not miss PAT's in the NFL. My Bergen Catholic high school kicker makes them, he is a professional kicker PATS should be automatic but no... if he made those 2 we win by 1 or 2 cuz they went for 2. Also that prevent D that Burns went off on in the tunnel is bs , prevent is preventing a win in my opinion. Showed today and vs Dallas... Giants are still on the upswing though they are competitive again

Dabol, Schoen and most of all Bowen have to be fired. Bowen admiited his mistake against Dallas then did the same thing yesterday.

Yesterday's loss sucked, but I'm not nearly as down as others here (or some of my friends who were texting me non-stop last night, lol).

This year is about building. Even a W yesterday doesn't mean anything for this season because we aren't making the playoffs with this team and, more importantly, the hardest schedule any team's had to face that I can recall. IMO, if we come out of this year with a legitimate, objective belief that we've found our franchise QB and have a nice core of players to build around, I'll be content. Give me competitive games, a few more Ws, and growth from Dart, Cam, and some of the other guys who will be here next year on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

I think I'm a realist about my teams, so this didn't devastate me as other Giant losses in my lifetime (the Flipper Anderson game being the biggest heartbreak, the Vikings playoff disaster, the Niners playoff disaster). Even the loss in GB after the infamous "boat trip" bothered me because I thought we might have another Eli run in us. Maybe I'm being too soft on the Giants, who haven't been good for a while, but when you are my age and have seen 4 Super Bowl wins (out of 5 trips), including two of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport, it changes your perspective. Especially when you also root for the Knicks and Seton Hall (thank god, btw, for the Yankees).

Btw, for those firmly in the fire Daboll camp, I'm not sure you'll get your wish. If the Giants do OK enough the rest of the season -- and I think it is a fairly low bar given the schedule and circumstances -- and Dart continues to show growth and play well, I don't see them moving on. In that case, I think they would try to bring in a brand name, strong-minded defensive coordinator.

Most people had Neal as a High Value Choice. D. Banks as a FIRST Round pick???????
Yup. Problem with all the mock draft stuff is that when a guy like Neal goes bust, it’s hard to call it a bad pick. Everyone was on him. Did everyone in the industry miss, bad coaching, bad development at the pro level, or some combination?

Banks is another glaring example I forgot about.

Giants cut Jude McAtamney after his kicking catastrophe in crushing Broncos loss

By Ryan Dunleavy

Jude McAtamney paid the price for his two missed PATs in the Giants’ historic loss to the Broncos on Sunday.

McAtamney was cut Tuesday, as first reported by The Post, as the Giants plan to move forward by either elevating Younghoe Koo from the practice squad or activating Graham Gano from injured reserve.

The Giants also gave up 33 fourth-quarter points, but head coach Brian Daboll isn’t making any coaching staff changes.

It remains to be seen if the defensive depth chart will be tweaked.

McAtamney, who made the Giants in 2024 with an international roster exemption, missed three PATs in the last two games.

He beat out Koo — an NFL veteran cut by the Falcons earlier this year — for the job after Gano was injured.

Gano kicked Tuesday, on the Giants’ off-day, so the team could determine if he is ready to return, The Post’s Paul Schwartz reported.

It remains to be seen if McAtamney returns to the practice squad, where his roster spot would not count toward the maximum.

The Giants also re-signed cornerback Korie Black to their 53-man roster off the Jets’ practice squad.

Black, a 2025 seventh-round pick of the Giants, chose to sign with the Jets’ practice squad over the same offer from the Giants in September.

Defensive tackle Elijah Garcia took linebacker Jonas Griffith’s spot on the practice squad.

One could argue that Thibodeaux & Carter have not lived up to expectations either. Thibs was the 5th overall pick; Carter 2nd. Decent support players but I hoped for more.
