That's my sense as well, but it would be nice to get the real story. No news is bad news.
What makes you think that the big fella is even a partial answer? Think the coaches have an idea after watching him day after day?Look I know you think I am a shill for Mbaye but geese unless he is injured I see NO reason he can't stand in the low post with his arms up for a few minutes a game and make his presence known! Even if to save our 2 bigs from getting injured and it looks like they both are not 100% right now. Our 2 bigs need some help! Rivera is not the answer at the 5!
Did you watch the Mbaye against George the Messiah video? What has given you any reason to believe that kid should get even one minute in a non-blowout? Couldn't defend post-ups from a 50-year old taxi driver with a potbelly who's probably 6'2 or under.Look I know you think I am a shill for Mbaye but geese unless he is injured I see NO reason he can't stand in the low post with his arms up for a few minutes a game and make his presence known! Even if to save our 2 bigs from getting injured and it looks like they both are not 100% right now. Our 2 bigs need some help! Rivera is not the answer at the 5!
If Sha thought he could help, I think he'd use him. Sha will play anyone who can play his defense how he wants. From the little I've seen of Mbaye, I don't think he's ready to play Sha's team defense.Look I know you think I am a shill for Mbaye but geese unless he is injured I see NO reason he can't stand in the low post with his arms up for a few minutes a game and make his presence known! I think I’d rely on Holloway to make those decisions.Look I know you think I am a shill for Mbaye but geese unless he is injured I see NO reason he can't stand in the low post with his arms up for a few minutes a game and make his presence known! Ok, now I know you’re unserious on this topic.Mbaye does not have to be mobile. Just have out in the low post.
In case you missed it our bigs from the first game on get burned repeatedly going out beyond the foul line and switching and getting caught in no mans land while the other teams center or forward is all alone under the basket or with a smaller player. Sha are you reading this forum? Wake up!!! That is bad "D" and even worse when a big is fouling out there! This was the same issue last year too!
We need better coaching for our centers! I volunteer!!! I can teach Mbaye to be productive in a week of one on one coaching. My qualifications are simple. Street pickup hoops. Where you have to be a man in the low post.
Sha made great decisions with the roster this year and he made bad ones the previous year. So he does make mistakes and he even admitted on more than one interview that has! So maybe not using Mbaye more is one? Especially when circumstances would indicate to give the big fellow more time on the court. Even a few minutes to get his feet wet?I think I’d rely on Holloway to make those decisions.
Please stop.Sha made great decisions with the roster this year and he made bad ones the previous year. So he does make mistakes and he even admitted on more than one interview that has! You are really full of yourself and don’t understand modern basketball. Almost all teams have their centers and forwards hedge on the pick to stop easy three point shots. They take the risk that their rotation will disrupt the play and that the big guy will fet back.Mbaye does not have to be mobile. Just have out in the low post.

And also force the star player to give up the ball!!You are really full of yourself and don’t understand modern basketball. We should have sent Mbaye to Grant at NJIT for a few years. Let him develop him and then take him back for his junior senior year.Problem with Mbaye is game speed and as an ode to Slick Rock, “lateral quickness”.
I'm not sure he would even get minutes at NJIT.We should have sent Mbaye to Grant at NJIT for a few years. Let him develop him and then take him back for his junior senior year.
I thought the same thing. He looked like he wasn’t trying and it was a staged video.Who knows if that video was anything but for show and NOT any indication of what Mbaye can do. I saw his high school videos and he looked completely different. He can run the floor and clog up the middle and dunk.
It is a small sample size but given what I've seen from Mbaye, if I have a choice, I'm taking you sight unseen over him.Sha made great decisions with the roster this year and he made bad ones the previous year. So he does make mistakes and he even admitted on more than one interview that has! So maybe not using Mbaye more is one? Especially when circumstances would indicate to give the big fellow more time on the court. Even a few minutes to get his feet wet?
That makes no sense as the centers are usually and mostly the slowest and least athletic of the 5 guys on the court and that is why we get burned all the time. The opposing coaches plan for us to be stupid at the 5 spot and have plays designed to take advantage of it. Meanwhile we seldom do that to the opposing team. I suppose you never noticed that? You are really full of yourself and don’t understand modern basketball. Almost all teams have their centers and forwards hedge on the pick to stop easy three point shots. They take the risk that their rotation will disrupt the play and that the big guy will fet back.
Guys, let this go. Focusing on the 15th man on the bench getting quality minutes is a foolish issue.
Mbaye is not a Big East player. He wouldn't get minutes at NJIT. Why with the season the Pirates are having are we wasting time continuously discussing a topic that has absolutely no reality to it?
It’s the fascination with 7’. Was the same with Alex Gambino.Guys, let this go. Focusing on the 15th man on the bench getting quality minutes is a foolish issue.
