According to the CPI eggs went down. However, energy prices continue to rise as well as beef and poultry
Trump is working on Energy cost, no thanks to the previous administration.
I have family in east Texas and beef price aren't coming down anytime soon. We are in a what I was told is a typical herd contraction cycle. That plus other uncontrollable consequences.

anything else?

If its typical herd contraction, then why is the price so high compared to the normal over time costs?
Could it be inflation over time?
If so, is this just the new normal and will employers have to just adjust the wages on services rendered?

if you go back and look at history, after periods of high grocery price inflation, prices stabilize, but for the most part don't revert to pre inflation levels. That's one way, the FED really let us down with their "transitory" BS.

Merely a note, as I don't really want to get in a whole back and forth over grocery prices. And this note isn't about you in particular.

But it frustrates me how nuanced people are capable of being when looking at a fluctuation in a metric when reviewing things when their party is in control. And when the other party is in control, it is a referendum.

Again, not personal to you, and no a partisan observation.

But like with many things (eggs, beef, gas prices, employment numbers, etc etc etc) there are often legit circumstances that can explain different statistics, and people are fully capable of seeing those nuances, but many only when their party is in control.

That is all. Back to regularly scheduled arguing over each others chosen statistic lol

The article I posted noted that the contraction was due to droughts. Between wildfires, and ag issues, I would love to see a study of how much droughts are costing this country.
