There are a ton of negatives about recent play. However, they have only had one real clunker the entire season.
I think they make this a real dog fight tonight and hopefully they walk out with a surprise win.
The recent downtrend has put a good deal of doubt into how the Seton Hall fans view the team. The offense has declined. The best SHU players are struggling mightily especially at home. I agree with you that this may come down to the last few minutes. At that point a win is not impossible. The safer bet is a SJU convincing win. A win would be huge to the toplline.

Sometimes the jolt you need comes from a loss. Here’s hoping. Guys may be pressing offensively, like a golf or batting swing bc the slumping is pretty significant now from all over the court including FT.

Nobody expects us to win. I don’t. Few expect us to be competitive. Sounds about right, lol.

No offense, but Simpkins, Williams, AJSM all were shooting WELL above their career averages through the OOC schedule. Maybe they are not in slumps and this is just how they shoot playing against BE competition after being scouted.

We took a bunch of bad shooters from bad programs and expected them to miraculously be good shooters for the entire 30+ game season in the BE?

But who knows, maybe they do all bounce back and start shooting 40+ % again from 3 and 50+% again from the field.

If Hines can be a force down low and make Zuby uncomfortable we have a good chance. Hines has to play with extreme energy and confidence tonight.

Well now is even worse than that.

Law of averages you shoot above you must then shoot below
Yeah, agreed on some regression we’ve seen from the veterans even though their numbers weren’t crazy high. But guys like Fisher and Williams are even under that now. Especially 2PT.

Simpkins and Parker, IDK, we’ll see. Both look like they could be better than what they put up their freshman years and I don’t want to judge their freshman seasons as their standards in perpetuity.

The slump with the shooting and the free throws has been contagious. Hopefully, the pendulum swings back the other way. If not tonight, by the DePaul away game.

I will let Sha coach the team, but given the shooting woes from outside, would love to see Hines start and getting him the ball. Maybe he gets Zuby in foul trouble?

We let the potential to beat Butler slip from our grasp, which makes tonight more important but not critical. I hope we play with the same sense of urgency that Butler played with against us. I believe our team has it in them to beat St. Johns.

Gut check time will be next Wednesday when we are 4-5, on a 4 game losing streak, and facing real adversity.

You might be right but I think we might get 2 or 3 more wins. Holloway was asleep when StJohn’s made their run, the opposite of Pitino when we scored quickly in the 2nd half. You don’t have to be a Hall of Fame coach to know when to call a time out.

Season's far from over. If our defense and rebounding continues as it has been, and our kids continue to play as hard as they have and as connected as they have on defense, we will have plenty, plenty more opportunities for Ws in the league. Especially in this years version of the Big East.
