Re: GYER34-0

These announcers are wearing me out. We're not playing a Special Olympics team.

It's been really disrespectful. Kinda weird.

Regardless of this last possession, LSU is embarrassing.

They're running sets for Booker and he just can't buy a basket.

Wofford just missed 18 open looks from 3 on the last possession to force OT.

God, what an awful game. Just miserable to watch. Hope we "care" about the rest of the games.

Cal wasn't all too thrilled in that post game interview. Won't say he looked concerned, but he knows there's work to do. We shouldn't have a game like that this late in the year.

Play like *** this game and get an attitude adjustment from Cal for 2 straight days >>>> Waste a great game against a crappy 16 seed and not be ready for Willynati

How is it possible for a high major division 1 scholarship basketball player to be as fat as J Smith?

Now a solid month-and-a-half into the Devin Booker slump. Would be nice if he got his head out of his ***. Dude is giving us nothing.

The 2012 team beat their 16 seed by 15 and were outscored by 4 in the second half. This was a piss poor performance, but spare me the foreshadowing of bad games to come ********

We were up 36 at one point. The game started at like 10:30. Get it together.

Mybe a dumb question, but why is sportscenter showing live clips of every game BUT the UK game? I assume its some rights issue, but is CBS being dicks on the UK games r something?

*Great time last night. There isn't a better day in sports than the opening weekend of the NCAAT.

*I was perfectly content watching the game at the Troll Bar when about 15 minutes before tip some dude walks in and offers lowers for $30. Sold.

*As much as I want to be there tomorrow, I may stay home. My little man apparently really wanted me home last night to watch the game, and since I'll be out of town next weekend, I feel I should probably watch with him.

*I had a great Indy plan last night that now doesn't seem too great. It will sound good again when I get drunk, I'm sure.

Not gonna say I'm panicking....but definitely concerned about some guys who are screwed up for whatever reason. as it stands now if we win the title its gonna be because we were carried there by

Towns
Willie
Lyles
Ulis
Andrew

Booker is full on November Bricker, Aaron hasnt been on save the occasional game every 2 weeks all year long, Dakari is just a mess even with 50+ lb and 6 in advantages in the post. The 5 who are on are playing awesome, and they might be enough...but damnit having our 2 best shooters shooting worth an ish makes this unnecessarily harder than it should be.

this morn on Mik & Mik they said last year after the 1st day there were 18K ESPN brackets still perfect. This year? 215

Go ahead and put up a billion, or even a trillion for a perfect bracket contest Warren Buffet, that money would be as safe as in a bank.

Re: GYER34-0

UC fan all of a sudden is pretty chirpy up here. Hopefully Cal uses last night's slow start as a way to get their attention and they come out and murk UC tomorrow.

UK is a terrible matchup for UC (and most other teams, I guess). UC's offense makes UL look fluid. They're aggressive on defense, but awfully thin.

Re: GYER34-0

I don't think last night is anything lasting. Hell, the game was late getting started, Cal was sick and not really pumped up on the sidelines, the opponent sucked, and they were sleepwalking through the game. I'm guessing when they play Saturday they will be back to UK dominant mode.

The 96 team looked completely apathetic in their first game, too. And when you're starting games at 10:30 at night, people aren't going to be sharp.

OH RLY?

Was thinking to myself this AM that he should start boycotting open jumpers and basically run around pump faking, throwing other teams off as some special decoy.

I'm not concerned about last night's ****** effort overall. I know how this team is by now. BUT I am concerned with Booker's slump. We need that dude and he looks awful on both ends right now.

Re: GYER34-0

Notes from the first day of the Cancer Bracket....

Todd WWH is dead last.

Only 9 of 96 people picked a team other than Kentucky to win, including woodfordandwater, myself, and catholic_back (i think?). BTW --> smart move is to NOT pick the heavy favorite. If you want to win $$, anyways. Kinda surprised more people didn't try this (it's the only reason I submitted 2 brackets, as I would have felt like a horse's *** for only filling out 1 all year and picking Arizona).

Among the top-5 = Wodie Sloot's mom, anth/MCF's mom, and TurboK's wife.
/typical

BBdK is crushing wcc.

A few things...

It was really really warm inside the arena. Obviously someone complained because they turned on the air, stinking the place up with a really bad odor for about 15 minutes. It smelled AWFUL, almost to the point of getting up and walking out into the concourse.

It was so warm, I almost fell asleep. Nothing worse than being tired and a place being too warm. Bad memories of falling asleep in a hot classroom in high school. Temperature about 75 and I'd be lights out.

It was really effing late. Games shouldn't start that late. Of course I had my 9 year old with me. Ms. Wildcat1973 just threw up her hands when I left the house...WHATEVER. Little dude had fun, though he was a butthead this morning.

Yum! is horribly overrated. I know this is a controversial take, but Rupp is better than Yum! in non-alcohol mode.

What a terrific trio of NBA prospects this season has turned out.

* Okafor's been so esteemed for so long, people are kind of taking him for granted at this point. But that dude is terrific.

* Then you have Towns who is AUTO on the blocks right now- and also is a beast on the glass, an outstanding passer, makes 80% of his freebies and contests the rim very well. Plus, he just gets better everyday. Scouts have to be salivating at his upside.

* Haven't even mentioned Russell yet, who in this Guard's Age in the pros, may be the star of the bunch. The Harden comps aren't far off. He's a great shooter, crafty toward the rim and a wonderful playmaker.

Another thing that hit me last night is that I can't talk about this Kentucky team in the Tournament with my Uncle, who passed away in January. Went to about 15-20 NCAAT games with him in my lifetime, including 2 Final Fours. And even if I didn't go to games, we would always talk about games on the phone the next day. I'd always call my dad, and then call my uncle (my dad's twin brother) next.

Kind of sucks.

So ... Ohio State got a shot against Arizona or nah?

Also, I think Duke or Georgetown could present Duke with some problems. Meanwhile, if Gonzaga doesn't go to the Elite 8 this year, they have no one to blame but themselves.
