MNF is pretty meh tonight, so I'm heading down to the 5th street deli parking lot at 9 if anyone wants to meet up.
After listening to it, I don't get the big reaction.

I think it's more of being to Chicago so much recently and the game being mid week. I picked NYC over Chicago mainly b/c NYC is just much better and I haven't been in a while. Brother and Dad are headed up though.

Monday Shorts:
- So...what are we looking at most likely? ClemPson, Ohio State, Bama and Stanford/ND? That would be one helluva Final 4, especially if the Irish beat Stanford.

I think you'll see a Top 4 of 1. Clemson 2. Alabama 3. Ohio State 4. Notre Dame tomorrow. Baylor and OK State will be right there and replace ND if they finish undefeated. If Oklahoma finishes 11-1 they will also get in over ND.
Hopefully Stanford finishes off ND in a few weeks. Then they move into the playoff talk if they are a 12-1 conference champ.
- Stefani looks good on The Voice, particularly for her age. He upgraded IMO but could do much better.

Mags52 was just on Terry Meiners show and said that this lawsuit is undoubtedly filed by UL people, maybe not officials at UL. All to get Katina Powell subpoenaed and deposed under oath.
Never said he wasn't crazy talented. Fournette is unreal. I just said that, at that time, Chubb was arguably the best backs in the country. PTI went on for a week how that was stupid. They've played 2 of the same teams and Chub had more yards in both games. He put up 158 yards on the exact same Bama team that was out for blood against UGA.
Yeah, I don't think this is good for UL. Basically the not-whores did what some of GYERO Law were joking about doing when ULPreLaw filed this lawsuit: join in this terrible lawsuit before it's dismissed (which it will be) in order for there to be depositions, etc. I don't think that UL can Powell in this situation if there's a threat of her being criminally prosecuted. (see anth for details) BUT the defendants can certainly defend themselves and ask for discovery for their case. Could be interesting, hence the

If I sue you, you get a chance to defend yourself. One way to do that is to ask the judge to toss your lawsuit because it's dumb. If the judge agrees that the lawsuit is dumb, it gets tossed, and then the case is over.
But if a judge decides the case isn't 100% totes dumb, then you can defend yourself at trial. In order to do that you have the ability to subpoena witnesses and evidence for your case. Like say you publish a book that says "UL got whores" and someone is all like "your book is dumb and hurts my school #L1C4" then you can start asking people questions under oath, asking for records, and such to support (possibly enhance?) your claim of "UL got whores". That's called discovery.
Of course, a stupid lawsuit like this should have been thrown out before you get to this point. But now there's some more people that join in the lawsuit saying your book is dumb, only they're saying "your book is dumb because I'm a stripper, but I ain't trappin". That's a stronger claim to make than "your book is dumb and hurts my school #L1C4" so the judge now is more likely to be all like "... yeah, let's see how this plays out..." and order some discovery to happen.
But maybe this is all a plan for UL to get some of this discovery on Katina Powell? Well, in the United States, outside of the campus of Bellarmine University, you're protected from having to answer questions that might get you in jail like "are you a *****, *****?" by the 5th Amendment. So given that there's been word of an ongoing grand jury investigation (that's criminal law) involving Powell, she would in all likelihood not have to answer such scurrilous questions. This is called "pleading the fifth".
