Banana republic mocs. ~$80, give or take. They don't have a cool horsey mouthpiece on them, but they work.

If you're a responsible adult paying a couple hundred for a nice pair of shoes should be ok. If you want to roll Doc Martins just know the consequences.

Maybe Wynrad could be the assistant AD next semester. Might also be a decent DC. Harris, pass that idea along to your people.

Matts being dramatic because he loves Peavey. It's a big loss but I don't see Cal making a decision to stay/go because of him.

Had a pair of Banana Republic loafs not too long ago. They did not, in fact, work. They leaked like a sieve through the sole. Pretty much failed the primary job of a shoe. Pass, imo.

lulz sounds like Colonel is speaking from a position of knowledge on this one.

If you're going to spend around a bill for mocs, either Cole Haan or Clarks.

Banana's v-neck T is tops. Have one in every color. Some of their button up shirts are nice. It is becoming a little too trendy for me, but their staples are quality. Boxer briefs are nice too.

Cole Haan & Johnston & Murphy can be had for $100-$150 in most styles I'm comfortable with if you shop online or wait for a sale.

...please let me know what I should be looking at? If those aren't acceptable by GYERO fashion elite, then I guess I'll keep with my perfect record of being out of fashion. [eyeroll]

..and to be perfectly honest, they don't look any different and are no more durable than my previous $70 Steve Madden from Off Broadway, fwiw.

...btw, my Sperry loafers are far and away the most comfy/durable pair I've bought in my $100+ (with tax) era of shoe wearing. Even roll no-socks in summer on occasion per GYERO recs, but it feels pretty gross.

Sandals ftw

-Per Bozich, the UK line has already dropped from -4.5 to -1.5. Hmm...

I'll be damned if I take any fashion criticism from someone who owns more Ed Hardy than I have shaving equipment.

Express/Banana were my go-to for blue button downs for a solid decade from 20-30...I #profited a lot of those things.

Thought about running in there to re-up since I haven't bought a retail priced shirt in 5 years...that not cool anymore?

I haven't had that problem. You know why? Because I wear boots or other proper shoes when it's wet/raining/snowing. Learn common sense outfitting.

I'm assuming you have way more than 1 razor and if you're still shopping at BR then I'd listen up. First advice, stop doing that.

-I shopped at those places when I was 18-25. Then I grew up.

-I roll a pair of Sperry mocs for work. They're fine. Same with J&M and Haan. If you're beating them up every day in a polo/khaki job you don't need more than that. I get way more than a year out of them but thats just me. I go sockless out of comfort way longer than I should.

Ecco's are actually the proper work shoe that last a long time and look nice. Cole Haan's are great quality, but don't look as sharp as Ecco's, which are extremely durable. Been wearing mine a solid year and half and they are still as comfortable as ever.

When I go sockless ----> blister Jamison. Plus, I assume fat people's feet sweat more per PTI(pti)...just not a good feeling in the dead of summer.

36 & married -----> Sandals, if I'm wearing shorts. If I'm in jeans, then it's socks for dad. Sorry not sorry, Brooks.

My job requires walking through wet/damp yards most mornings to snag pictures...my "budget" loafers will just have to do. I don't attend enough high brow functions to warrant anything else.

claiming to buy super high end luxury italian designer footwear because they're DURABLE is sooooo anth. bs.

nobody buys that stuff because of how long it lasts. absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not saying that's why I buy it but you shouldn't be replacing them yearly. If you take care of a nice pair of loafs they'll last a long *** time. I don't wear them to work everyday but even the ones I do wear daily last much longer than a year.

Couple intersting afternoon tweets.

#1, he's a great kid. Anyone bashing him is an *******.

#2, This would be nuts although I'm still not buying it. Wonder where he's getting that info?

You fools never heard of no-show socks? Also, banana republic wash and wear dress shirts are great for business casual.

As for loafers that don't cost over $500, I'm wearing Florsheim bits.

The biggest "key" to looking good is ------> being in shape -- not what brand/cost of your wardrobe. #shocker

PTI(pti) is widely considered the best-dressed in GYERO, for good reason, and he wears pretty basic clothes (shops at SteinMart, TJMaxx, etc) Actually, the exact same **** I wear. Polos, shorts, jeans, and the occasional khakis/slacks.

When I'm fat, I look like ****/sloppy....when I'm fit/slim, I look pretty dope :100points:. B/c I can buy clothes that actually fit. It's really that simple if you dress "normal" and aren't some wannabe trend setter. Otherwise, you have to buy clothes that don't fit, too big, etc...

Especially for a short fella like me, there is a *very* slim margin for error there, and it sucks. 10lbs overweight and you're wearing a shirt that goes to your shin.

Basically, don't be FAT

JMO.

Speaking of oversized clothes, Btw, did Joshie put on 20 or so the past year, or is it just me (and others) ?

and now ferragamos are a common man shoe.
quite a discovery.
Of course not. You just said super high end Italian and it's not really the case. The super high end stuff starts in the 2000+ range. A $500 loafer is basically the cheapest thing SF, Gucci, Prada make. Not saying it's cheap or anything just stating that it's not the really high end stuff. Similar to Yeti. You can get a $350 cooler which is WAY overpriced or you can get a $1500 cooler which is just crazy talk.

It also helps that he's very average size. 5'10" 165-170 lbs. Clothes off the rack are basically cut to fit someone his size.

That, too. Jelly. Clothes shopping is pretty much impossible for me, even when 'thin'. Every shirt is still a bit too long...and all pants have to be hemmed.

Bottom line tho, and this goes for Me, Anth, and even Ursch (there are pictures out there)...if you're not out of shape and/or a Dbag, you'll look just fine in your clothes unless you're a TOTAL poor/dork.

A bunch of LBS can make anyone look like ****, TS

Meh, not sure I agree he's the best dressed. If you want a stock RL catalog or you're headed to church maybe but thats boring. He's certainly the best ironed in the thread. I tend to prefer a little creativity and fun, get it from moms and I like it. Sometimes it looks good, others it too much. Brooks walks that line pretty well, he's the only dude in the thread I'll ask for advice.

-BTW, yes on Joshie. Needs to hit the gym a little more and Dad's a little less.

-I'll take heat for it, and have in the past, but if you're an odd size then go have a few shirts made. It's really not that obnoxious at most of these little tailors. $50-60 bucks a dress shirt cut specifically for you. I've been meaning to get this done for about 5 years.

^ I tried that with some model that came to my office and "cut" a shirt just for me...and it wasn't any better than one off the rack...

Open for suggestions....

Thanks for the advice, bub. Next time I have professional responsibilities that require dress shoes on a wet day, I'll opt for hip waders instead. Should make a nice impression. Listen, these things leaked on damp pavement--not like I was duck hunting in the damned things. Anyway, mistake number one was walking in BR in the first place. Won't happen again.

Really? Stop in that little shady English Fine Tailors on BTown Rd by Heine(if its still there it might have moved) and get one made. I have two from there. I think B24th has to do this because he's a monster. I'm assuming Bob needs to b/c most 2XL's don't come short enough or with a 22" neck.
