Sorry, folks. Most of my nostalgia for that team went out the window the moment we lost to WESTERN KENTUCKY on opening night in Rupp.

Should be able to revere that moment but I don't bc I can't separate it from all of the stupid **** that team ran down it's leg non stop all season.

Loathed Team Turmoil with a burning passion. Most despised team in my lifetime. A bunch of prima donna punks who'd rather get high & disrespect the entire staff than win. That team should've been really good.

And a big, fat false to whomever claims that as the loudest Rupp moment ever. That person probably never attended a game in Rupp during Pitino's first few years ( LSU Feb 90, Kansas Dec 90, Louisville in Dec 91) or any of the hyped games with some of Cal's great teams (UNC 09, UNC 11).

I said it. I've been to plenty of big UK games, and that was the loudest single moment. Other games, such as Maryland with Francis or Florida '03 and sone others you mentioned, were louder from tip to horn, but as far as the roof coming off, that was it in my experience.

Wasn't sure what to think or feel about UK football. But alas, Chad, I go to one game every other year, and don't go in until halftime, chimes in and tells us how to feel. Thanks brah.
The good news, he only post once a year about UK football, and then he will be back to asking who was the best left handed ball handler on the 1984 team.

It's funny how little some of you Super UKFB fans actually get UK football.

Yeah, I'm not a UK football fan at all. Just been following and watching this dumpster fire for the last 25 years because it's so fun.

Sports memorabilia collectors: any recommendations for a display case for a full size legit NFL helmet?

TIA.

One of my favorite random games ever is UK @ Tennessee, 2/14/01, 103-95, Tony Harris runs into a scrum by our bench and then limps back to Tennessee's bench because he's supposed to be injured. That team STUNK. There probably isn't another UK fan who would put that game in his overall top 10. Doesn't matter to me.

That's the first UK game I ever attended live. Dad picked me up from school, I dropped off my Valentine to my high school girlfriend's house on the way to the game.

I get what Richie is saying...it was a truly great moment...that often gets touted as the greatest moment in Rupp Arena history, or near the top. And in that sense, it's overrated. Definitely a Top 10-15 moment, but not necessarily Top 5. Thus, overrated.

And I was there, and thought it was the ****. And if I was there, it definitely was great from a nostalgic perspective. But yeah, I'm with Richie. Cool moment. Not something you see everyday. It was definitely loud. Rupp has been a lot louder. Like a whole lot louder.

:boxing: Keep up the good fight Richie!

The best part about Tayshaun's five 3's was that on the last one you could sense it coming. "He's going to launch it as soon as he touches it............................yep, swoosh."

The amazing thing about the Tay clip is that it was ONE long sequence...no whistles, no stoppages...just a unique thing that you'll never see again. Capped off by a ridiculous shot & call. The climax is like something out of a movie. It's insane, and if you disagree you're a dbag.

I've watched that clip more than any clip in UK history b/c it's so damn entertaining & just PURE fun -- and as a bigger & better fan than all of you, that officially puts it pretty damn high on the Rupp "moments" list no matter what anyone says.

Always thought that the amongst the narrative that UK basketball fans are a bunch of physco savages is the fact that the Rupp crowd recognizes & appreciates good bball when it sees it.

Rupp has given standing ovations to an opponent's player 3 times that I can remember. David Robinson, Ron Slay, & that dude from Texas A&M that lit us up for 40 plus in 2013.

That's pretty amazing, IMO. What other fanbase would even think of doing this?

Recently, the Boston fans gave a standing ovation to Arieta from the Cubs.

It happens a lot in soccer as well.

Honoring John Stewart with a hoop on senior night was a very classy and special Rupp moment.

Seriously, this is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Saying Tayshaun's five 3's against Carolina is over rated is Henson=Davis stupid.

I've had season tickets since '99.

The 5th Prince 3 was the loudest that Rupp has ever been when I was there.

Ironically, Tay also had arguably the 2nd loudest moment, too, when he hit that little baby hook to beat Florida.

The '03 Florida asswhoopin' was the loudest for an extended period of time.

The Davis block to beat UNC was the most fun after the game. Everybody's hands went up... and they stayed there, and they stayed there, and they stayed there.

Lots of cool moments in the last 15+ years for sure.

I don't know but I think the most red *** Rupp has been was at the end of the South Carolina Senior Day game in 97. The officials were lucky to leave alive.

Probably Senior Night in 09 after we lost to Georgia.

Weird atmosphere. People became indifferent down the stretch of that game. Like, let's see how much more this crazy hobo can touch this up because then maybe it will be enough to make a move.

Dark moment.

I've never wanted to murder another human being more than when we lost late in the year to a Georgia team that had just fired their coach, and a tournament bid was on the line for us.

If I had seen Gillispie out that night, I couldn't have been trusted to leave him unharmed. And if I had murdered him in cold blood in front of fifty witnesses, there's a decent chance I'd have been acquired by a Fayette County jury.

The worst of them all.

THANK YOU, MARK ZUCKERBERG, for your forward-thinking generosity! And congrats on becoming a dad!
Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he is giving away $45 billion of Facebook stock. What you may not have heard is that he plans to give 10% of it away to people like YOU and ME! All you have to do is copy and paste this message into a post IMMEDIATELY. At midnight PST, Facebook will search through the day's posts and award 1000 people with $4.5 million EACH as a way of saying thank you for making Facebook such a powerful vehicle for connection and philanthropy. This is great. TY
