Stay away from Lexington folks.
Every moron in this state, and I do mean every single one of them, is driving in Lexington today.

Stay home, or stay overnight at work. You have been warned.

There’s a lot of traffic the Friday of University of Kentucky’s move-in week? Crazy. Thanks for the heads up.

Just filtered water with a Welch’s flavor pak, coffee and a coke every couple of months is all I drink.
It sucks, but for the last 15 years, if I drink anything with caffeine after lunch, I’ll be up for two days.

Haven’t been on the river in about 2 weeks because of all the dead Asian Carp. I’ve never witnessed so many dead fish on the river, the stench is unreal, make a goat puke!
Kinda happy that so many of them died, big bastards will knock you out jumping when you fly by. Do miss the cool nights with no one around, buzzed, just looking up at the stars, not even caring if the fish hit or not. The water lightly lapping against the boat from a light breeze is a nice touch.

-Bowling Green opinions stay in BG, thanks. Most bland town I’ve ever seen. Literally a huge highway exit is all it is. “Chain restaurants HERE, got your CHAIN RESTAURANTS HERE!”

-Haven’t been to the Barrel in decades, not sure why anyone would besides reminding them of childhood, as someone else mentioned, there’s so so many options of places to get a real breakfast. Not that sliced open bag of “gravy” mixed with water and frozen everything. It’s like saying you eat red lobster for the real seafood experience.

-What are good flavored soda water options that don’t have a ton of sugar? Haven’t found many of which I’m fond. One kombucha a day is enough with its 11-16-ish grams of sugar for me in a beverage.

Whoever said I’ve cold whole milk, yes please. I mostly drink 1-2% but when I’m trying to add some pounds whole milk is just fantastic. Raw milk is lovely too but too expensive for the amount I drink and you have to make a special trip for it.

-Knocked out a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked last night, delicious. There’s a salted caramel cheesecake one that I can never find that’s great as well. I prefer a nice local handmade ice cream of course, but sometimes I’d rather eat at home on the couch to wind down.

-Need to make a point to try and get to a Bucs game this year but the cost and traffic is just prohibitive for the pleasure. NFL is crazy. Although they are starting to run the ferry to and from St Pete to Tampa again which is dope.

Will definitely get to a Lightning game this year as live hockey is amazing. Also, the lady has agreed to a Magic game this season. We can ride bikes from her house which is sweet.

-Roof finally going back to on the Trop. Need that thing done for next season so we can get at least one or two more years of the Rays before they may move across the dreaded bridge to Tampa. Again, ride bikes, $10 ticket, $20 huge ice cream and I’m happy. With $10 tickets you don’t feel the need to stay the whole game.

Not sure where I’ll be living next year so need to get these things in.

I remember last year at a game the lady was asking what the baseball players make. I said $50-250,000. She said for a season that sounds about right. I said no that’s per game. Her jaw dropped, she had no idea. 😆

-Pretty envious of the Kentucky weather dropping to cool. At least we’re topping out in the 80s now.

EAD and go take your lady for a walk, thanks. WTF do you know ? Several local dining spots in BG, of course it is not OMG, Tampa or St. Pete. "The lady has already agreed to go to a Magic game", LOL, embarrassing. Do not know where you will be living ? I suggest Pietemartizburg. I hear bike rides are wonderful and very scenic there. I Do not know about the nature trails doh.

In other news…………….A shooting involving two juveniles at the Mayfield-Graves County football game last night. Victim flown to Vanderbilt. Rumored to be 14-15 year olds.
This on the heels of an August 8th shooting incident 20 minutes up the road in Paducah, which claimed the life of a 20 year old female who was pregnant. Multiple shooters, so forensics will determine who gets the double murder charge in that one.
I live in Paducah and work in Mayfield. These aren’t exactly large, metro areas. Senseless 😔
What happened to fist fights or simply turning the other cheek??

Usually it is the people who can't fight that use guns. Scared of getting their *** handed to them, so they carry a gun to look tough. Take the L, it is better than spending the rest of your life behind bars. Pain and embarrassment goes away, prison doesn't. In prison, you will not be able to rely on a gun to save you.

Who did we miss out on when Pitino left? The McGrady thread on rafters got me thinking. Grandpa sent that cat paw magazine and remember a really crappy photo of McGrady in there but didn’t really focus on recruiting then (slaying ladies as a 13 year old, mostly).

Lamar Odom? Who was the presumed PG recruit before we ended up with Saul?

Weird to even imagine those two dudes on that team and how that would have worked.

I was planning on going to a few Tilghman games as I can walk to the stadium from my house in Midtown. Should probably keep an eye out.

Missed the o48.5 in the Kan St/Iowa St game because Iowa St took a knee at the 1 yd line instead of punching it in. Taking tough losses already.

Had placed a future bet on U4.5 wins for the Cats. Cashed it out for full value because as much as I don’t think they win 5 I just can’t bring myself to root against t

Speaking of head on a swivel….Gonna head out for a walk shortly, will definitely have ear buds in.

All of the milk talk lately got me thinking. I’ve had probably less that 5 glasses of white milk my entire life. I can’t stand it. I however put away my fair share of Nesquik powdered chocolate milk as a kid. That stuff was fabulous as far as I was concerned.

Same for coffee. I’ve only had 1 cup of coffee in my life. I know it’s come a long way what with all the fancy creamers and stuff but have no desire for it.

Also I have never changed a diaper. No need to start on that anytime soon either.

I was watching the local 6 o’clock news last night and the Graves Co. sheriff said something to the effect of “we’ve never had a major incident at this football game before.” Fast forward 3 hours and Welp!
Mayfield is one of the states most successful programs, and have had some great players through the years, but it’s almost like they never look beyond that. I think most of them can be found 20 years later, tailgating beyond the west end zone, talking about the glory days and drinking Hennessy.

Midtown Market is a plus down there. The last time I was there Dry Ground’s beer was too dark and hoppy even for me. Big fan of PBW though. Pizza by the Pound is a dive, but the best pizza in town IMO. Blind fold me and I can’t tell their wings apart from the Kountry Kastle’s.
Mayfield at Tilghman in a couple of weeks. I will probably go to that one.

I have a previously unconfessed mea culpa -

Regarding the song “Fast Car,” until that bro country guy remade the song last year or whenever, I thought the line was, “He had a phallic star,” rather than, “He had a fast car.” For like thirty years I thought that. And I don’t even know what a phallic star is?

I’m just stoked to begin a new era on Saturday with Jon in charge. Kudos to Mitch and the board for recognizing a sunk cost when you see one, and striking while the iron is hot, for a generational and transformative, home grown talent. Literally a dynamic we have never seen before here. Ever. Joe Craft won’t regret his payment to the dunce when he watches us in the CFP in two years. 8-4. GBB.

I don’t listen to KSR but I generally enjoy Matt’s podcast efforts, but how can any self-respecting sports fan put F’ing Pablo Torres and Mina Kimes on their show? I’d argue the rise of those two and the similarly non-sports fan dweebs ESPN decided to start running out on their shows in the past 5 or so years effectively neutered the network.

Seriously- would you ever want to talk sports with those two? Do you respect a GD thing they have to say about sports?

Christ. What clout-chasing BS, Jones. Embarrassing.

all favorites of mine. They all know my name at Midtown and PBTP. The Kastle has the coldest beer in town. I’ll be there for the Mayfield/PT game, in blue of course so I don’t get shot.

There's a reason Saratoga and Keeneland are often talked about together as being the best in the country. Beautiful track nestled into a nice little neighborhood with a great downtown just about a mile away full of shops, bars, and restaurants. It's a must-see track if you're a fan of the sport.

And got to hang out with our friends who are owners of Thorpedo Anna (won in a photo). She's a machine, and so is Sovereignty. The Breeder's Cup at Del Mar is going to a fun watch.

I think he’s like Lebatard. He gets off on promoting diversity For sake of talent. Kimes got her gig because she wrote about watching football with her dad. Now she’s a football expert? I don’t even know what Torres does. I don’t know if Mario has talent but he’s in a lot of Matt’s posts like he’s a show pony.

Saratoga being close to downtown is similar to Santa Anita. out there for Breeders Cup, walked from hotel to breakfast/bar, where they hosted a handicapping discussion. Then a quick walk to track. very enjoyable for proximity.

Reading this made me depressed. Like waking up and realizing that it was just a dream, and the reality of another year of Piglet sinks in.
