Kessel, Kadri, and a #3 to Carolina for their #1 and Semin......as is the case for pretty much everything like this, it's from rumor-monger Eklund. Oh, and one more (unrelated) thing; what's everyone's take in Toronto today after Prust went bananas to the media about the Ref ???

Really eh?....my first thought is....2 completely inept org's trying to consumate a deal to absorb each others problems...to me the deal sounds just plain stupid?!? Which leads me to believe it may have legs with these two...Eklund certainly likes to float alot of stuff out there doesn't he???

Lol Prust...the view today was largely ...BOO HOO. Most seemed to think he was trying to light a fire under his teammates, where he REALLY went south imo and many others was crying about all the bad names he was called...does he really expect us to believe he addresses the ref's as a choirboy? No matter what Prust does he and the rest of the Habs seem to have no answer for the blazing speed at which the Bolts dish and move the puck...they are in deep trouble now.

I will admit I'm no fan of Prust...the wife has taken to watching this inane 'Hockey Wives' show? In the brief periods I've had the misfortune of being in the same room while it's on...he seems like his head is inflated bigger than the Goodyear blimp, and his wife a complete twit...

Those are some funny comments......though I couldn't agree more about your assessment on the Canes and Leafs. And yes, Eklund will float just about anything; and he hasn't been right too many times.

How an exchange of headaches really helps either of these two clubs is a mystery to me. But at least Kessel and Kadri can play; and something tells me Kessel (and NK, for that matter) might actually like playing in a market like Raleigh where neither would be in the media crosshairs on a daily (or even weekly basis.

But to theoretically take on a head case like Semin......who makes Kessel look like friggin' Jonathan Toews......the Leafs would have to be pretty convinced as to who they believe are the two best players in the Draft after McDavid, Eichel, and Hanifan. Then again, maybe Shanny's real grand plan would be to package the #4 & #5 pick.....along with any other two players the Oil would be willing to take.....to try and land the #1 pick.

Do the Leafs have any really good prospects......especially on defense.....that might interest Edmonton ?? I know they'd gladly offer up Dion; any reason to think he'd be willing to go back out West (and just as importantly, if the Oil would be willing to take him) ??

Morgan Reilly would definitely be demanded. ..and they would really like to dump Gardiner on someone. ...Shero named Devils GM by LL??? Interesting. ...

We all know was only a matter of time until Shero found a job; though, I'm not sure exactly what it is about Jersey which he apparently found so much more palatable than the other jobs which have been out there for the past year. And, I assume essentially everyone is waiting for him to extend the HC opportunity to Disco Dan.

While the Press seems to be treating Shero with an unusual amount of reverence, they're at least taking care to report how different the Devils situation.....which I think most consider to be a full teardown/rebuild.....is versus what he acquired in Pittsburgh (which had Flower, Sid, and Geno already in the pipeline). He's being properly questioned for, at best, his middling Draft history; and nobody has a clue how much Lou will leave him truly alone (which I myself don't think will happen). In other words, it seems the jury will/should be out on him for a job which will obviously demand him to make a fair number of correct player selection decisions.

I know the jury is also out on how many current (Shero hires) members of the Penguins GM staff.....meaning Jason Botteril, Tom McMillan, and Billy Guerin.....might be candidates to move onto his new Staff. Assuming Botteril indeed wants to be a GM, I don't see how it makes much sense for him to leave; though I don't think anyone knows when he's going to get elevated in Pittsburgh after GMJR's comments last week. I think he could be more likely to leave Pittsburgh now; though not necessarily for Jersey. Maybe McMillan is a little more likely to follow GMRS, though he's a long-time franchise employee. As for Guerin, I can't say where his current loyalty lies between the two (though, I'd tend to default to Pittsburgh).

I admit I always liked Shero as an individual, though I won't have any trouble rooting against him in Jersey.
