How are Pinstripe Bowl ticket sales?

I don’t get it, I really don’t.

We’ve pretty much sucked for the past 10 years, and largely sucked from my entire life, and before that as well

We’re going to our first bowl in a decade, and we have people complaining that it sucks

It’s not ideal, but it’s Mobile either. Nor is it Detroit

It’s the bowl that we were fortunate enough to make by beat Michigan State, the bowl we deserve to be in, and the bowl that will likely get us setting in the right direction

Most importantly, it’s freaking football

We go at the nine months, essentially without seeing any football, absent of the spring game

Maybe I’m alone, but I truly cherish the 13 weeks that we are fortunate to play during the season

I don’t care if we’re playing this in a parking lot, I am thrilled to be going to this bowl, or any other, after a 10 year hiatus

That's just the minimum price set in advance by the Yankees/bowl organizers. Doesn't mean much either way in terms of predicting attendance.

I just took a look at the interactive Ticketmaster chart and to be completely objective: sales look decent but not great. The good news is there's still plenty of time left for RU (and Miami) fans to buy tickets. Hopefully the bowl can find a way to draw some casual fans as well, although I worry that the price you stated (basically $100 for a nosebleed ticket after fees) will keep them away, along with the weather.
You’re such a loser.

Just wondering if there are any numbers being reported as to ticket sales for Rutgers-Miami. If not, when would such information get released?
Have not heard anything yet.
Not expecting many Miami fans to show up…. Sure they will eat much of their allocation of tickets.

With our long Bowl drought { exc. late invite to the Gator Bowl}there should be pent up demand for RU fans. The Venue is the major problem and many people are probably on the fence. Hopefully weather forecast will be favorable come December 26th and many folks will buy seats for the game on 12/28.

I think most...are thrilled that we earned a bowl. And hope the future even looks brighter.

The ONLY issue is that it is a crappy setting in crappy weather and for those that are just as happy as you are to be bowling- they would rather be checking with each other right now on what hotels they are staying at, what is everyone doing the day and evening before, what flights or who is driving and who is going to get there fastest.
Even some like Nuts- he is thrilled to be going to a bowl game- even this one, and hopes everyone is going to have a blast, he would much rather be doing everything mentioned above.

I actually like football in cold weather as long as it’s not raining. Baking in the sun at the fiesta bowl was not fun.

The B1G should be able to secure some of those soon to be vacant Pac 12 bowl spots, so the Pinstripe may not be a B1G bowl after this contract runs out.

B1G will add the 2nd LA Bowl, the Holiday Bowl, and hopefully the Alamo Bowl away from the Pac 2.
This would be pretty good.

Wasn’t the Holiday a B1G game not too long ago?

And if this kind of thing happens, the Pinstripe might not disappear initially but will move down on the list. Way down.

Which if it does goes this way…Pinstripe vs. staying home, we shouldn’t complain.

Joking right ?
Let’s see 70 degrees on 12/26 to be at the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix and attend pre game parties or be in the South Bronx on 12/28 with cold dreary weather and probably rain or snow. Yeah sure.

I misspoke I was talking about the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. Extremely hot - just not football weather. I’m not saying Yankee Stadium is a preferred venue, I just prefer watching football with a coat and hat on and not shorts and a tee shirts sweating my a$$ off.

now back on point, how are sales doing?
The only thing we know for sure is that neither school has sold out its allotment. Anyone saying they know something about sales "for a fact" is just trying to push an agenda.

Looking at the seating chart on TicketMaster, a fair reading seems to be that RU sales are decent so far and Miami's are poor. But again, it's impossible to know for sure.

It is rarely ever “extremely hot.” When the Gator Bowl is played the average high temperature is 66°.in Jacksonville.

Todays forcast has 45 degrees rain. Getting colder as game goes on. Not great for last minute ticket buyers

Speaking only for myself, although I doubt that I’m alone

I’m thrilled for the coaches and players that they made it to a bowl game. But for me the PS bowl is just a 13th game. I’d travel to an outdoor bowl game in Philadelphia, Foxboro, DC or Pittsburgh or any warm destination. But commuting to a NYC baseball stadium to see a so-so opponent in late Dec has no appeal.

I do get it through a certain point, because going to the Bronx to watch them play in a baseball stadium, and like December is not exactly the most ideal thing

I just look at it, though, as it’s still football, and we had gone a decade that making a bowl game, so, even though it’s certainly not the preferred destination or venue, it’s good to see them playing in a bowl game, getting the extra practices, and hopefully taking the next step to build a program back up

I was at Gator Bowl watching RU and don’t recall it being too hot. When I got back to JFK it was cold.

Yeah I completely agree that playing in the cold weather is so much more fin than warm weather. I prefer when everyone is covered up in huge winter jackets

If the past has been any indication with our fans, purchasing for bowl games, this should be a big week with large groups starting to purchase. We're (my season ticket group and friends) still adding people so likely won't buy until week's end. Hoping more 300's open up - the cheaper ones - as there aren't many left in the 200's.

The B1G was affiliated with the Holiday Bowl up to a couple of years ago. My son and I saw Wisconsin beat USC there in 2016. Even this game gets played in a baseball stadium now - Petco Park.
