Hoos, I asked myself the same thing when I first read the post. Has he fallen off the stool again and hit his head. The more I have contemplated this more I realize Threeputt may be on to something. Just like DSH, I have learned to enjoy Threeputts post. He is un-couth, brutally honest and a die hard Salem man who in my opinion says what a lot us want too, but will not.
If we look at this message as it is written he is simply saying he is tired of hearing about William Byrd being undefeated when in his mind they haven't played anyone.Therefore, if they had played Amherst, Blacksburg and Dinwiddie they would not be undefeated. Whether WB is a contender or not I have no clue. They are currently undefeated, so I will give them their just do.
The message he could be sending is that Salem is being raked over the coals for having a down season and virtually written off, when in fact they only have two losses. Just maybe as a loyal fan, Threeputt, is trying to encourage the Spartan fan base to stay on board with a Salem team whose only losses came to programs who many believe are contenders for a state title. If this is indeed the case then I totally agree with him. Until the Spartans lose their last game, I will not throw dirt on them. The Salem team lost a few key players from last years team, but the bulk of the studs are there and they are capable of making a run.
Salem fans you have a lot to be proud of and right now your team needs you more than I ever. To bash the coaches, and players is counter productive. Just weeks ago things were very different. This board was filled with Salem lore and talk of a three peat. As bad it sometimes gets on this board with Salemisms, I can honestly say I don't like the sound of "crickets". Come on SpartanofYore, Panther, Salemgal, Freeatlast, Hokie1, Spartanforce and Mike, rally around your team, be optimistic, and most importantly let the kids know you still believe in them. Just maybe, the boys will pick it up a notch and do what they do. Play Salem football. Good luck tonight against PH-Roanoke. .

Actually a good point about Byrd but that being said, Salem fans have heard the same noise from other than Roanoke or Lynchburg fans the last few years, that we haven't played anybody. Actually, being that Lynchburg west is much less populated, to have as many good teams is pretty remarkable. I can name a few. Lord Botetourt, Staunton River, William Byrd Salem, Blacksburg, Heritage, Amherst, Glass, Brookville, Jefferson Forest and more in the 2a ranks. GW Danville. I don't think Salem fans have given up. The field is more divided. Salem is still there but new Quarterback, some new Defensive players up front. Some adjustments to be made.
I have full confidence, and I try to typically not brag about my team, that Charlottesville would handle Byrd by 10+.
You can't be serious. Stopping Basham is difficult and y'all have given up a lot of points to some not great opponents.
My lack of posting has nothing to do with a lack of faith in Salem football. They've been road warriors in the playoffs recently and I have no doubt they can pull together as a team and do it again. There are still a lot of very good players on this team, they just haven't put the puzzle pieces together yet. I haven't posted as much the last couple of years in general other than the Pick em or to post media content on local players or teams.

Alright alright...I jumped the gun a bit. Nobody should really pay attention to Byrd until they play Botty and SR. Then we can see how good they are for real. Maybe Byrd would put a beating on Cville...I don't know. What I do believe, however, is that Charlottesville can put points up on anyone in 4D (yes, including Glass, that first game had a couple excuses as to why we only scored 20). All I'm saying is, our opponents combined record is 13-14 (which is not great). Meanwhile, Byrd's is 4-29. So the SOS definitely goes to Cville there, and if not for a bad snap in the last play of OT, Charlottesville could very well be undefeated at 5-0, with some quality wins, while Byrd is 6-0. Again, there's really no need to debate here, just wanted to stick out for my team. I think it's unfair to try and evaluate Byrd right now.
Our Homecoming is tonight against the Flucos of Fluvanna, I'll be in that student section making some noiseeeee!!!
What idiot fans in this area would ever talk about who Salem plays, that's adorable and stupid. Even the years we "don't play anybody" we win state by rattling off win after win against teams with 0-1 loss.

2 2A teams with a total of 3 wins
2 3A teams with a total of 1 win
1 4A team with 0 wins
1 5A team with 0 wins
And you think you have done something bc you are undefeated right now.
The two losses that Salem has is to a 4A state finalist and to 3A state champs. Is there things the teams need to work on absolutely but I would rather have those losses knowing what we need to work on than thinking we have done something like that just to be undefeated.

We had our schedule set out a year and a half ago, but you and Blacksburg pulled out so we had to add Martinsville and Richlands late. We want to play tough competition, but it just didn’t play out.
Travling to Fleming is a lot cheaper than traveling to Martinsville or Richlands, and we lost 4 teams from the schedule we had last year.
Tell it like it is salemgal.... The truth hurts some people!!!!!! Wait next year when the Byrd cupboard run dry....Basham gone...... I say 4-6
