I would ball trap budd everything he crosses half court. Make ball screens and pnr play very challenging
Hopefully one of their stars doesn’t get hurt more than halfway into the game or they’ll hold it against us on Selection Sunday.Plenty of time to dissect the game vs UConn. Now the team is going to the deep end of the pool. We need to see the team play a competitive game. Lots of attention and maybe more media attention on this one. Not a Must game scenario, but a tremendous opportunity.
If I am UConn I lay off Budd and encourage him to take 3's and long 2's and just stop the dribble drives and penetration. Also play lots of Zone to force outside shooting.I would ball trap budd everything he crosses half court. Make ball screens and pnr play very challenging
I actually think Simpkins and Parker have the potential to get hot on offense. Need Fisher/Rivera/Dar to stick with Karaban rather than focus too much on offense. You don't have to do much defensively against us: Pack it in and stay physical for 40 minutes. We really need guys like Staton-McCray, Williams, and Fisher to have big games offensively.
The game will be decided on the other end. This is - by far - the best offense we have faced. They are balanced and move the ball exceptionally well. Also, Seton Hall needs turnovers to win games given how limited the shooting is on this team and the need for more possessions. Connecticut isn't great with limiting offensive turnovers - a little above average nationally - so that could be something to watch.
But I don't think we have any chance if we shoot the way we have the past few games.
