I wouldn't blame him for transferring if he had eligibility left.Sorry if this has been asked and I missed it.
The rumor seems to be that he won't be there for the bowl game but have not heard anything definite.
Another question, would you blame him for leaving?

We've decided to make college football 100% about money, and therefore shouldn't get upset when anyone involved makes a financial decision. While I was fond of Shapen and thought he showed some moxie this year given the patchwork line…..he agreed to a deal and got his money. That’s what it’s all about these days isn’t it********
Kinda weird that so many players opt out of the bowl games, then. Most NIL deals are backloaded to where you have to play a bowl game (if your team makes one) to get a portion of it, so it would surprise me if he didn’t show up to collect that check. It’s the last big check he’s going to get playing sports.
I guess that’s one way to describe 4 punts, 2 TO on downs and an INTwe have somebody that can scramble and keep us ahead of the sticks
It'd be interesting to see actual NIL agreements, since there is so much rumor/misinformation/misunderstanding/guessing when it comes to the specifics. Most NIL deals are backloaded to where you have to play a bowl game (if your team makes one) to get a portion of it, so it would surprise me if he didn’t show up to collect that check. Also, might explain why school are opting out of bowl games.Kinda weird that so many players opt out of the bowl games, then.
That info came from Borkey on Sportstalk MS. He said it was a major reason they had very few opt outs last year. I guess some teams don’t do it that way. I would imagine we do.It'd be interesting to see actual NIL agreements, since there is so much rumor/misinformation/misunderstanding/guessing when it comes to the specifics.
We've gone from some players opting out to entire teams opting out.Kinda weird that so many players opt out of the bowl games, then.
Couch Football League?Needs to be getting ready for the CFL.
We didn’t decide this. We've decided to make college football 100% about money, and therefore shouldn't get upset when anyone involved makes a financial decision.
To clarify, I was not disagreeing with you or disbelieving your comment. That info came from Borkey on Sportstalk MS. He said it was a major reason they had very few opt outs last year. I guess some teams don’t do it that way. I would imagine we do.
Nah he can make a Canadian league or xfl team. Definitely not nfl.Couch Football League?
I would love to see one of the agreements drawn up by the Collectives, AND some of these University contracts for revenue sharing. Just the templates, I don't need to see any actual numbers (although I wouldn't mind seeing that). They are being closely guarded and the athletes and their agents probably signed confidentiality clauses. It'd be interesting to see actual NIL agreements, since there is so much rumor/misinformation/misunderstanding/guessing when it comes to the specifics.
To save money by not having to pay the players? Also, might explain why school are opting out of bowl games.
Plaintiffs' attorneys are not "bleeding hearts" We have no hearts. We didn’t decide this.
A small group of bleeding hearts pushed this really hard.
Now as usual we all get to deal with the aftermath!
Yeah that’s not where it started.Plaintiffs' attorneys are not "bleeding hearts" We have no hearts.
Where do you think it started, then?Yeah that’s not where it started.
But I agree with not having much heart.
That's one heckuva helmet.
He needs good protection and with room to throw over his tall OL. Got a strong arm and is pretty accurate. CFL without a doubt and maybe UFL if he wants to.Nah he can make a Canadian league or xfl team. Definitely not nfl.
I thought we all had fond memories of the ASU game, at least.I noticed him on the sidelines during the egg bowl and he seemed engaged. I’d be surprised if he decided to leave the team now. But I don’t really care if he does.
I got no ill will toward Shapen but I definitely don’t have fond memories either. I never doubted shapen’s effort. He just unfortunately is not good enough and honestly maybe regressed in his time at state.
Ahead of the sticks may be sugarcoating but whatever the end result, limiting negative plays when the line does a ****** job. We're obviously not good either way, but being 2nd and 9 leaves us better off than 2nd and 14.I guess that’s one way to describe 4 punts, 2 TO on downs and an INT
On the surface it does provide more hope, but I'd counter with 64% is better off than 54%Ahead of the sticks may be sugarcoating but whatever the end result, limiting negative plays when the line does a ****** job. I don’t think “we” decided anything.. I think the players decided to make it all about money… so all about money it is.We've decided to make college football 100% about money, and therefore shouldn't get upset when anyone involved makes a financial decision.
Alright I have 1 fond memory of Shapen.I thought we all had fond memories of the ASU game, at least.
Bottom line is we made the change & the offense had one of its worst games of the season. On the surface it does provide more hope, but I'd counter with 64% is better off than 54%
Whew... if anyone thinks the players are the only group displaying greed, I'm not sure we're observing the same events.I don’t think “we” decided anything.. I think the players decided to make it all about money… so all about money it is.
They just joined in on the fun while we are the ones holding the bag.Whew... if anyone thinks the players are the only group displaying greed, I'm not sure we're observing the same events.
