Well said. Love IP, but this has to be the ugliest vehicle ever created by humankind.
The Pontiac Aztec says hello. Voted the ugliest car ever made by Motor Trend:

Keep seeing one of those pass by my place of work towards the end of the day. Just can't get used to it. As long as Isiah likes it...

I wonder how much IP paid for Cyber Truck.
That seems to be a nice little commercial showing him getting it

127K + tax was the sticker price when I visited the dealer last week. Marked up by 20K because the vehicle is hot.
Fresh vomit is hot too, but I wouldn’t pay $120K for it (or $0 even). Each to their own, but the CT is one ugly vehicle, inside and out.

Wouldn’t you feel embarrassed to be seen in it? It looks like a shoehorn on wheels.

No, because I think
It looks cool, and for now, many others agree, as they are paying $20K over sticker. But prices should come down in the next year as supply increases.

pretty sure any color you see other then bare metal is a vinyl wrap
There was apparently an issue with the stainless steel body developing rust spot or attracting particles that rusted. The wrap may address that issue.

Saw one stopped at a light while driving home from work at a local dealership. They look like something from a cheap B Sci Fi movie.

I had almost the exact same thought. Dystopian sci-fi B movie prop was my specific thought, IIRC.

As if they dressed up an F-150 or the like with a home garage body kit to look the part.

“Looks cool?”

I thought Nike Pumps looked cool in 1991, but my parents were smart enough not to pay for that hot garbage.
That’s your opinion. It’s isn’t fact.
What you think about the car doesn’t matter. They are buying the car not to satisfy you but to satisfy themselves. As long as people are happy with their choice, why rain on their parade?

Prices will be down soon. I see a bunch of these at the Tesla storage parking lot in Bergen on the way to work. People ain't buying......at these prices. Also q2 volume inflation at the end of the month.

All I hear about are people flipping it for big profit. One guy has multiple reservations. Smart move.

The target market isn’t sensitive to price because they have money to burn, and make impulse purchases.

I tend to agree but with the wait list why are they sitting in that parking lot and it's been like that for weeks. Forget about the Ys and 3s.

True but it’s a small market. When supply overwhelms the demand, it’s a free fall. Also, you lose the flippers and demand goes way down.

My problem with the CT is that I think people mostly get it to stand out on the road but, while it’s true the CT stands out, the apparent overwhelming opinion about it is that it stands out in a really bad way, as this thread indicates.

It’s not even expensive nor will it be intentionally limited in production, so there’s no cache of exclusivity or wealth about it. It certainly screams “look at me” but most people looking are laughing.

I mean, within reasonably high limits, I don’t think people should GAF what other people think. But in this case, even if I liked how the thing looked and wanted a truck that’s bad at truck stuff but goes fast, I still would avoid it because of the breadth of derision it provokes.

IMO, it fails the “within reasonably high limits” test.

Each to their own, but I think that, unless the plan is to buy it and flip it for profit before production ramps up, which Tesla doesn’t want people to do, then buying one is a mistake.

I suspect the prices of CTs will drop quickly, like most other Tesla models have done. Which devalues the used car market for them. And I think the market of people who want a CT will dry up very quickly. And it seems very likely repair costs will be quite high.

Flip it fast or eat the high depreciation. And again, $100K is not an unusually high price for a truck. Not everyone buying one will have “money to burn”, lots will finance it over 5 years at today’s high interest rates.
