Headed for Booneville, MS for today. Leave there early Saturday and head for Starkville. My question is, where in Starkville can a guy get some bacon and eggs in preparation for State's oh so rude introduction to Texas A&M Football?

I'm pretty sure you can get breakfast right there in Booneville, but the Starkville Cafe would be a good place to eat breakfast

I would stop at Waffle House

In Tupelo or West Point, anything in Starkville will be covered up on game day. Both are along hwy 45, in Tupelo, take the Barnes Crossing exit, or in West Point, it's in front of Wal Mart as you leave town.

Starkville Cafe is the right answer. It is on Main Street and will likely be packed.

Glad to have your money spent in town at a very old, local establishment.

I would stop at Tin Lizzie in West Point if I were you. Starkville will be crowded, and Tin Lixzie is right after you enter West Point and before the stretch of god awful red lights where game day traffic starts to get congested. Jmo though

And another West Point spot, a bakery a block E of the highway, serves kolaches as good as any I ever ate in Texas (they don't call them kolaches, but that's what they are).

There is also a Mennonite Restaurant on the left of 45 a couple of miles before West Point. Do not know what time they open but have heard alot of people say that their lunch is fabulous. Cant think of the name of it eventhough I drive by it every week?????

I'm all for supporting the Starkville Cafe, however, I'd have a hard time passing the Tin Lizzie in West Point simply because it's just to convenient. Starkville and the Starkville Cafe will just be packed for game day traffic. Tin Lizzie would be easy to get into and out of.

Now, if you really want to experience a good Mississippi breakfast, then you can try the new Pheba Diner on HWY 50 in Pheba, MS. You'll get a great breakfast at a good price and probably be joined with half the deer hunters in the area. To get there from Booneville, just take HWY 45 South to West Point. At West Point, take HWY 50 West about 14 miles. The Pheba Diner will be on your left just after a blinking yellow light.

After breakfast, leave the diner going back East on HWY 50. Take a right at that blinking yellow light onto HWY 389 which will take you 12 miles right into Starkville.
