You could argue they could of, should of have won the Tournament. With their up-tempo pressure defense their a hand full to play against. Expectations for the Big East schedule should be way up. AJSM was impressive.

The expectations are most definitely up on here and with Jerry per usual. All of us would have signed up for 2-1 and this 2-1 is better than the 2-1 most of us envisioned.

As much as sha whiffed on last years recruiting class he hit a homerun with this one.
This is why I couldn't understand the off the charts negatively towards the program...

Should have. But you still have to be happy with 2-1. We get a good win and an ok win with a close loss to a good team.

Still have a long way to go and now we're no longer a secret. Need to tcb next Wednesday night and keep the momentum going.

I expect it will be increasingly common for teams to exceed or fall short of preseason predictions. Preseason predictions will not go away because, hey, it's a living. But with wholesale roster changes year to year we'll also get wholesale record changes.

My interest level was peeked by the NC State win. My expectations were raised because they brought the same effort and execution on back to back nights vs what I believe to be the best team in the tournament in USC based on talent and the eye test.

I am happy that the walked away with a 2-1 from the winners side of the bracket.

However I am going to downplay the quality of the win vs Washington St. The Pirates took care of business and played an all around game despite Clark having a sub par effort compared to the first two games.

To put it into context, WSU now sits at 3-5.
They have losses against Idaho at home, and at Davidson by 16. Their only wins have come against Chamindae (by 5), St Thomas of MN (by 10) and Southern Utah. They currently rank 162 in Ken Pom.

For those looking at higher expectations of now building a resume, WSU did nothing to move the needle.

It did continue to build upon this team’s confidence, so I am more than satisfied with that.

Last night was more about reinforcing what kind of team this will be. It was not a good opponent, not a quality win, but we came out with the same intensity and team play we saw the first two nights against good teams. The team is doing it with tenacity and active offense, not flukey shooting or something. Refreshing.

I am very impressed with what we've seen to date. NC State and USC are good teams. USC could probably finish 3rd in the Big East. We all wanted to see what this team would be when they stepped up in competition: We got our answer. We're relevant again. Thank God after last year.

we played three games in a row, some at odd times, after a long trip, in a new place, with tons of distractions.

What is encouraging to me, we were not distracted. And while not frosh, it is a new team, not set in its ways, and we came to play each day. No excuses. Just hard work. And good basketball.

Washington State sucks - like most of our non-con opponents - but we look like Seton Hall basketball again. The identity is back.

And we are rapidly climbing Kenpom. Up to overall 61 with a top 20 defense.
Would not be surprised if WSU has a decent season in the WCC. Pretty good offensive talent taken out of their rhythm. Quad 2 win?

No idea of how good NC State, Washington St. and especially USC will make out this year, but The Hall took it to every one of those schools. Would love to be 8-0 coming back home. However, it is possible that if they did, they actually might have received some top 25 votes. We have seen that before and the team lets up. So, maybe losing to USC in that fashion keeps them hungry. The chip on the shoulder is real and beneficial at this point. They "could" have 9 wins in the OOC. 10 would be fantastic. Then conference play?? March????

If they didn't have that chip they would have come out flat last night. Instead they played with the same intensity as they did in all three games.

This is what I thought they were, and maybe even slightly better, a mid level Big East team. I had them preseason 8-12 in the Big East, but now my sights are a little higher.

I had them sight unseen as improved but only7-13. I'm still not sure. Can they win 10 games in conference. Looks like UConn is better than last season and Gtown also. So who knows?
