who thinks they are smarter than everyone else but when they try to explain their reasoning - it shows how much of an idiot they truly are.

Once I get the all clear to share some info - I will do it.
I think John's opinion of himself may have been elevated partly due to being around primarily baseball people his whole life. Not that there aren't smart people in baseball, but there's not quite the opportunity to use intelligence as an advantage in the way there is say in football. And someone of lesser intelligence isn't as likely to get beat by it the way it is in football. I mean, look at how amazed everybody was by somebody figuring out that OBP was a big deal.

I don’t know that MSU has ever employed a bigger micro-manager or over-thinker than John Cohen. You could see it when he was the baseball coach too. His last game as baseball coach is a perfect example of that. It’s a Super Regional elimination game and he pulls Rooker in the middle of a two homer game for a defensive sub. The game ends up in extra innings and we don’t have our hottest hitter available because we voluntarily took him out of a game that was still in doubt.

I will not miss him. 14 years of his schtick is more than enough. I’m elated that we get to have a new AD now.

So I heard he was caught doing coke off a strippers a$$ with Joey Dishwater, followed by street racing with Freezus. Which led to him doing karaoke of "Don't stop believing and Friends in Low Places" at the cats meow with none other than Ed O and his lady friend in tight black dress with thigh high boots (talking Cohen no Ed's squeeze). Bit of course this is all here say but a cross dresser at Lips in ATL told me so it must be true!**********
All this to say I don't give a darn he's gone and good riddance

Actually, Dawgg asked you an honest question because you disagreed with the information being put forth by the media.

Instead of just answering the question, you decided to defer to notable credible sources within the Athletic Department ... (checks notes)... Leeshouldveflanked and L4Dawg. When pressed further by another poster, you gave the ol' "if you don't know, then I can't help you" answer, which is the beacon call of those who know nothing.

I don't know if you're "stoopid" or not, but I do believe this is a situation where you know nothing more than the average sidewalk fan and like to play pretend insider.

Ironically I’ve long believed that JC & LT had similar thought processes.

In a smaller budget-minded department with fewer people, LT could at times shine.

In a larger department, someone like LT (e.g., JC) could be overbearing.

And yet we still sit here hours later and you still have said nothing about what happened because you don’t know a damn thing. If you know what happened then say it, otherwise STFU.
You’re waiting on DS to spill the beans so you can say “yep, that’s what I heard too.”

I had two classes with JC at State and he didn't seem very smart to me. LIke someone above said, he seemed like one of those people who think that they are smart when they are the only ones who think so. It worried me when he was announced as the baseball coach and nothing he did really alleviated those worries. When he was announced as the AD, I was really worried and again, nothing he did as AD, showed me that I was wrong about him.

I was told that the sexy dugout texts to Can of Zorro were not to/from blondie but none other than the IB himself. He had to Can Andy to cover up his love of all things manly. My sources are impregnable. oh yeah ********

Since it’s now ok to say, the smartest guy in the room tag is nauseating. I don’t know if it was misunderstood or misused, but the full saying is “if you’re the smartest guy in the room, you’re in the wrong room”. So, when he was hired for example, Keenum calling Cohen the smartest guy in the room would be just saying he had outgrown his previous position and was ready to take that next step in his professional development.

To put that into perspective, we were bombarded by people assuring us that he was hyper intelligent. He was so unqualified they literally had to drive it into our fan base that he was capable and not just a baseball bro. That should have been a pretty large flag.

I heard that Scott Stricklin was the reason Champ died and John Cohen had iron-clad proof and threatened to make it public if Keenum didn’t give him the AD job.

To prevent a huge black eye to the university, Keenum agreed to allow Stricklin to quietly resign and take a job wherever he could get one. I’m not sure where he ended up, but I heard it was some backwater north Florida town. Keenum agreed that Cohen could be the AD for 5 years, but after that, “you need to start shopping around”.

Cohen, unable to find leverage on Keenum in the span of 5 years, called his buddy Butch Thompson and asked him if he had any dirt on Allen Greene at Auburn. Butch told him no, but that football is looking really shaky. Cohen asked him if he would tank the postseason, but Butch told him “no” because he he wanted to keep his job. Butch said the best he could do was “tank against the SEC teams so our SOS stays high for next season. Besides, if we lose to Ole Miss, so what? Not like they’re going to win out anyway, right?”

Months later, Greene is out and Cohen is in.

Now, obviously, I wasn’t in the room for these calls, but I have a very reliable source in the AD office (horshack, it’s horshack) feeding me this intel.***
